American-style bar and restaurant on the High Street. The main bar is on a raised platform to the front of the room overlooking this busy tourist street. To the rear is the restaurant which is decked out in the typical American style with car registration plates and other related memorabilia. This section gets very busy and a wait in the bar or outside at the street tables is often required. The menu is mainly Mexican/Texan style with pizzas, burgers etc. With all the bustle and comings and goings it is definitely not a boring experience here.Linda - Mar 2001 |

| Sue quinn | don`t go | | in Edinburgh yesterday and went for meal at `the filling station` have to say it was the worst meal out i have ever had. Obviously didn`t have enough staff waited ages for food and when it came was terrible. 3 out of 4 of us picked at the food another just sent it back as soon as she saw it. | | Saturday, July 17, 2010 | Rating: rosettes |

| | Daniel Martin | Best Pizza in U.K. | | I'm a pizza connoisseur from the states, and the pizza at the Filling Station made a rainy day in Edinburgh into a fantastic experience. The crust was tasty with a nice texture, the sauce was perfect, and the pepperoni had just enough kick to make me never forget that pizza! It ranks in my top five anywhere I've ever been. | | Tuesday, October 31, 2006 | Rating: rosettes |

| | E.Williams | Fantastic | | We went to the Filling station on Rose St, Edinburgh with our 1 year old little boy and despite the food being served on the lower floor everyone was helpful in getting the buggy downstairs and the waitress was extremely helpful and polite and even refilled the little ones cup with squash. Fantastic food that arrived in great time, i enjoyed the entire experience, only wish i could have stayed for cocktails at the bar as it looked intriguing! Baby fell asleep before his dinner arrived but we were offered fresh food when he awoke and a box to take away his leftovers in. If your looking for an outstanding restaurant that has great prices, fantastic service and a delicious menu, head to the filling station. | | Wednesday, November 16, 2005 | Rating: rosettes |

| | Old firm hater | football colours | | You must be stupid if you think you can go into pubs with football tops on. Your husband probably had a jacket covering his top so the bouncers didn't see it when you went in. | | Saturday, March 19, 2005 | Rating: rosettes |
| | Paul Mallon | Read on... | | I live in South Manchester, a place not short of top-notch restaurants and bars, It was my first visit to Edinburgh and had been there only two days when by chance we decided to go here for a spot of lunch. First impressions were very good; the place was spotless and well-laid out and the staff were extremely helpful very efficient. I was immediately seated and drinks arrived in seconds, not minutes. After looking over the superb and wide-ranging choice on the menu I plumbed for the Fillet Steak with the Blue Cheese sauce with a side order of Garlic Bread with Cheese, followed up by warm pancakes with cream, ice-cream and chocolate sauce (greedy pig, yes I know!) and can I just say it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The girl who served me (Sarah I think her name was) was extremely polite and helpful, the food arrived quickly and was cooked to perfection. The décor and layout of the place was very interesting but relaxing at the same time and just added to the whole experience, which was nothing short of superb. I really enjoyed my time in Edinburgh, the Castle, the Scotts Monument, Mary Kings Close, the Camera Obcsura along with many (many, many!) bars all got a visit and were all excellent but it is a real tribute to the management and staff of this restaurant that the hour or two I spent here was the best part of the whole visit. If I could give more than 5 Rosettes I would! All I can say is a big thank you on a job superbly done to all at the Filling Station, and to anyone who is going to Edinburgh… EAT HERE! | | Tuesday, February 01, 2005 | Rating: rosettes |
| | Louisa Thomson | No football colours | | We consider ourselves regulars in this restaurant. We were asked to leave because my fiance had his football top on. The bouncers had already greeted us at the door, we had sat down at our table and were looking thru the menu when the bouncer approached us and asked us to leave because no football colours were allowed. We asked him to show us the sign which indicates this, he was unable as there is no such sign, it was the managers decision he said. Quite embarrassing being asked to leave a restaurant. Never go back. | | Monday, August 02, 2004 | Rating: No rosettes |
