| M. Sibun | change of ownership | | Unfortuantely, the previous owner sold the pub to one of the brewery chains, at which point almost the entire staff list also left. The pub has significantly changed from its previous character, the food although still good is not as consistant in quality and the service from barstaff is a shattered imitation of its former glory. Its relaxed atmosphere is slipping as its client base has drawn away from the stable crowd it used to draw in and has been blighted with more trouble, previous to the ownership change doormen were never needed and in the three years i had been a frequent visitor i had heard of literally one single fight, alas that can no longer be said of the venue any longer. | | Miss M Moon | Real ale with a real good atmosphere | | Whilst there has been a number of chefs changing hands at Wine Vaults over the past few months, it seems the teething problems are just about finished. With drastic improvements in the menu for both Vaults and Vines, you can now choose from a selection of toe curling dishes, such as homemade lasagna, minted lamb stew and the famous steak and ale pie. Whilst Vines still remains a more 'upmarket' affair for food, the menu reflects the Frenchness of the chef! | | dave fox | MEAL AT VINES | | organised my wifes 40th AT VINES NEXT DOOR,and they completely forgot everthing.
I HAD TO ORDER ALL THE FOOD,AND COLLECT ALL THE MONEY,I PAID FOR MY OWN BARMAN AND AGAIN THEY FORGOT TO PUT HIM IN PLACE,ABSOLUTELY USELESS MANAGEMENT TEAM.
