Finnegans Wake
Reviews
Finnegans WakeThis typically Irish pub has a great atmosphere at night when they have live bands. During the summer months it may be necessary to queue to get in, but, well worth it if you like Irish music. Inside there is a large circular bar and small booths around the perimeter. The floors and walls are all wood with a small raised area to one corner where the bands play. Bar food is served during the day and ,of course, Guinness is on tap! Great night time place whatever your choice of music.

I'm a guy from Lorient in Brittany. I came three times in your beautiful city and saw each vacation our very goog friends in your PUb: Roy, Ali, Paul and John but John left the band. I really enjoyed my parties in your fantastic pub. I look forward to go there again.

Will DunlopAwesome!
I'm a American Firefighter working Kuwait who came to Edinburgh on vacation. I went down to Finnegans on a Sunday night and got to hear Absent Friends play. They were really good and I had a blast. If anyone has anymore information about this band like a website or anything email me...

IslaMagners/Bulmers
Good bar for a bit of a boogy, just wear lots of layers cause it gets like a sauna!! BTW, Magners was only lauched in Scotland this year and is still hard to come by. Finny's is one of the few places you can now find it.

CeltaAbsolutely magic
Should you be looking for a peaceful place to sit and have a chat, you're not going to get it at Finnegan's Wake! You'll get a night of careless, great fun and with great music to match. Should you on Sundays, you'll catch The Roods who are most probably one of the most talented and eclectic group of musicians I've ever seen. But do be prepared to dance: before you know it, somebody's twirling you around or sticking a pint of guinness in your hand. Such a great atmosphere!

Dave HeenihanPoor excuse for an Irish bar
Majority of staff aren't even Irish and know less about Ireland than George Bush! Where are the Irish products? Don't even have Magners. A few t-shirts and posters don't make an Irish bar!!

elvisPossibly the most fun, friendly bar in Edinburgh
This is definitely the most friendly, lively and laid back place in Edinburgh with a relaxed mixture of locals and tourists and a guaranteed atmoshphere almost every night of the week save perhaps mondays and tuesdays. The draft beer, however, is a big disappointment - lukewarm and tasteless - I recommend you drink the malt whisky or bottled beer!

Derinaits simply the best better than all the rest

Chris BreretonBest Irish Pub
Superb atmosphere here in the evenings. A favourite haunt of mine on a Friday/Saturday evening. This place has different live bands playing 7 nights a week, serving up a compilation of celtic inspired music. Gets very crowded 9.30pm onwards as the bands start at 10pm. If you like live Irish bands and beer, you can't go wrong here.
