Nice looking bar with a beer garden to one side and chairs set out at the front where one can catch the evening sun after work. Inside, there are half wood panelled walls with plaques depicting old cigarette, soap and beer adverts. The bar has an ornate wood carved gantry that holds a considerable stock of malt whisky. There is a good wine stock and a wine specials board is on display behind the bar. Some of the beers on tap include Landlords, Fullers ESB, sandy Hunters, Border Brewery, John Smiths, Boddingtons and more. Pub food is served between 12 and 2p.m. To the rear of the bar there is a back room which can be hired out for functions. The bar is popular with business people and tourists alike.!
Toasted sandwiches from £1.75, baked potatoes with choice of filling £2.95, steak and ale pie, chips and salad £4.50, scampi, chips and salad £4.95 are just samples of the small lunchtime menu.
