Cask & Barrel
Reviews
Cask & BarrelThis corner bar is always busy on 'match day'. It is a very popular stop off pub on route to either of Edinburgh's football grounds. An old traditional style circular bar is the central attraction and a large selection of guest ales can be changed on a daily basis. The food served consists of mainly pies and sandwiches which always go down well with 'footy' fans on a cold day. The landlord and lady are very welcoming and with the dark wood decor this is a cosy place to spend a couple of hours.

Master YodaBest Boozer
The best IPA on the tap, in whole of Edinburgh, bar none. Only minus point is that if u have a friend who happen to be tired and wants 40 winks, expect to be thrown out and have a blast for nothing!. Otherwise than that, C&B is the place to be for a good pint of real ale!.

The 'Willis' clan.A 'real' pub
We travelled up from the South just to taste the 'Flowers' but alas it wasn't there. Lucky for us then that the landlord and bar staff were on hand to guide us through the other ten that are! Samples for those we wished to try before we buy. Make no mistake this is a real pub. Only one drink on this visit but we will be back to try the rest. Many thanks for your hospitality.

RaymondEdinburgh's finest
Don't know what all this nonsense about a dour Landlord is all about?! Mitch is a top bloke (despite being a Hibby!!) and all his staff a very friendly. The Deuchars IPA is the best you'll taste anywhere and the pub grub is good value and unpretentious. A trip to Edinburgh is not complete without a visit. Go there now!

Harry ShearerMiserable
The landlord(? big guy, I assume he's the landlord) needs to try being friendly to his paying customers!

Susan DelkinUnfriendly, unwelcoming
A traditional pub with fine ales, let down by the extremely unfriendly landlord. A real shame as otherwise it could be a good venue for a pint or two.

Jason RobertsPoor service
A very narrow-minded pub where everyone stops and stares when you enter. Be careful if you are don't fit in to their world view.

VWA great Pub!
This is the finest pub in Edinburgh - with the possible exception of the Windsor Buffet. The beer is unrivalled in the city - great for viewing sport. Mitch & Mike are a great duo who know their beer - it's the tops!
