still open?
any idea if theTache is still open? Heard rumours the last time we went (early 2000's) that it was shutting down.

The Tache Night Club
I sometimes go over to it when i visit and was last there in April 2008. (From te Isle of Man)

First went to it around 1998 then went again about 2005 and was amazed to see the guy with the very long hair behind the bar. I think he maybe the landlord (Not certain)
Even in 2008 he was there, it was like time had stood still.

I like the place though i noticed that the music doesn't seem as loud as it was around 2004.

One year i think 2005 i came at the wrong time as it was shut on certain days and open on others.

Look forward to visiting it again, its nice to see a rock night club, something we don't have on the Isle of Man :)

golden pies (errr days)
hmmm this place holds MANY memories for me, as i have been going since i was barely of legal age, my god, thinking bout it, this year should be my 10th anniversary. Only problem is, that i rarely visit anymore due to lack of time and all the new generation of kids making me feel archaic.

The Tache
I used to be the drummer in a band called B4 Time and we played at the Tache quite a few time in the the early/mid nineties. The DJ was a girl with black hair on one side and blond/white on the other. What a place it was, had some fantastic nights there!!! Glad it's still going and playing rock music.

Great place - for sure!
Started hitting the tache back in the late 80's, mostly on my bike which used to live outside the entrance, most nights a gang of us used to role up and head on in, take over a table and sit back put our bike boot laden feet up on the tables and knock back a few beers... how times have changed. :)

Last time I was in there was after a gig I did (work as a DJ myself) andme an my mate bobbed in at about 12:30am. this was prob back in 2002/2003 now, yet still I recognised faces.. Lynn the DJ, Stuart her better half behind the bar still and Reggie was on the door with HIS missus taking the entry fee's.

Most folk in there were much younger than used to be.. no more Wendy James look-a-likes wearing just a nice frilly Basque and suspenders.. LOL

Can't really say publicly what used to go on up the blocked off staircase (shortcut into barney's) but what a laugh.

Actually I'm gigging a Rock gig this weekend and previewing all the old tunes has me drooling for some Rock action... so I might be seen in the Tache yet again soon.... I'll be the older person with thinning hair trying to look young.. LMAO

anyone who spots me and mentions this message can have a drink on me :)

Friendly Rock Venue
i love this place! i have been going their for about 3 years now. it has two floors and 3 bars. if your in to alternative, indie, rock or heavy metal this is the place for you. It isn't the most Glamorous of places but it is probably one of the most welcoming of places in blackpool nobody cares what you look like how you dress all that matters is having a good time.It is locally run and once you have been going for a while people will treat you almost as if you are family! its ace!

Happy memories
Man I used to love going to this place when I lived in Blackpool 95-96. Very friendly - the barman (Stuart I think) had my bottle of Brown Ale ready for me by the time I got from the door to the bar. I wonder if that blow up sheep is still there :>

I love the tache
ive only been going to the tache for about 6months but i finally have found aplace where i fit in, where people dont care what you look like or dress like or what music you listen to, nearly everyone are regulars and people become like family, you get to know everyone and iv even gone out on my own because im bound to know half of the people there. I admit that if you like metal you will get sick of hearing punk/emo for an hour but vise-versa. The DJs try to play a variety of songs as a variety of people attend and 99% of the time your requests will be played. The tache has become like a second home to me thursdays and saturdays are great. To all of you who say the tache is crap i say you are not being open minded. It might not be a lovely decor or smart furnishings but the people are friendly, drinks are cheap and even if you only like a quarter of the music your bound to have an ace time.

Hell on Earth
My son drinks here. This is the place where they used to have a sign over the door which read Don't laugh, your daughter might be in here. Well, no-one seems to care these days.
