now Usha - indian
Hey, this website needs updating - the brown cow is now and Indian. When it first changed hands we visited and I must admit we were very impressed but years on and things have changed. It's just not the same anymore - food is not the same, nor service and the prices are quite expensive. Friendly staff I must admit - but I would rather have delicious food. I think they need to make some improvements and get their customers back. There are now many Indian places to eat - lots of competition about so please Usha get your act together and improve.

Will visit again!!!!
Wasn't quite sure what to expect when we arrived at the brown cow, especially due to the previous comments on here. being a discerning amateur food critic, i would definately recommend a visit, kind helpful staff, cosy and modern decor and the food was second to none! I especially enjoyed the
chicken livers as a starter and the marbelled
Pork medallion as a main course. an all round
top class dining experience. and also very good value for money.

Rushed service and unwashed salad
Actually found the food ok except for the salad leaves which had traces of earth on them.

Let down badly by the service, I know it was Halloween and the staff were rushing to get off, but it was a family celebration and they only took half the dessert orders and when we asked for coffee at 8:50pm, we were told not possible as the machine had been put away for the night.

Also one of our family is in a wheelchair, and the wheelchair access path is overgrown with prickly hedges so Mum suffered a few scratches going in and out of the establishment

Slow and cold
Well after waiting for over 1hr on what was a quiet day, I ordered the leg of lamb which came slightly warm, but by the time the rest of the party had their food, mine was stone cold and on request of it being redone i was told that it wasnt their fault. Eventually they had to reheat the food.
Good besides that, but still give it a try, things might have changed :)

wonderful meal one of the best we have had
This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. We had chicken and ham caesar salad for starters - large pieces of ham and chicken
Followed by chicken and leek in a sauce with a pastry bottom. Loads of chicken and lovely sauce.
bar staff and manager friendly and helpful
A truly glorious place to dine

What the heck!!
I found the food to be delightful, really well presented and above all tasty, the prime fillet is yummy and the garlic mushroom starter is soooo creamy you'll be wanting more all night, overall an excellent meal and would recommend the place to anyone!!!!
