waggon & horses landlord comment
the comments I placed 2 years ago were neither fabricated nor malicious, but an actual reflection of my experience.

The Landlord said:-
Again I find myself having to contact you regarding comment posted on your site, this is the third time I have tried to contact you maybe this time you will have the common decency to answer my e mail.
Please look at the comments posted against the Waggon & Horses Stalybridge. These I feel are malicious & fabricated comments that should be removed from your site.

Utterly Dreadful
Obnoxious landlord. Miserable staff. Terrible service. Awful food. Joke prices. More rudeness than the whole of the internet.

This is just a truly dreadful experience all round - just don't put yourself through it. Stay at home with some sandwiches and you'll have a much better time.

Avoid the Waggon and Horses in Stalybridge at all costs.

Poor
We too have tried the Roe Cross and i must say the food is really good and they serve 5 cask ales in the pub. We now eat there instead of the waggon and horses as do many of their customers. The landlord of the waggon is so rude and seems to think you should be privaliged eating in his pub, and like the previous comment the food is nothing special just pub grub. Very average

Abysmal Service, Ignorant Landlord
The food here has usually been ok (but nothing to write home about), but over the last couple of years the service has been rubbish. Had to wait an hour and a half for the food and when I complained the landlord wasn't interested.

VERY POOR
i also agree with the 2 previous comments. we were waiting for over an hour for our food and when we copmlained we were literaly told if you dont like it go somewhere else. Which we did and found a lovely pub just up the road called The Roe Cross. wow the food was fantastic, never tasted anything as good. Long gone was the carvery so we were told by the landlord (very nice chap) We will definatly eat here again. Fantastic !!

Terrible service and hostile environment
We went to the Waggon and Horses in Mottram on New Yearís Day 2007 and had a terrible experience. It was so bad that Iím still angry now and that is why Iíve written up my account even a couple years on. First of all, we were told that we would have to wait half an hour to be seated. The four of us then had to wait over an hour before we complained as to why the food was taking so long. When it did arrive, the food was good traditional British pub food but we had waited over 90 minutes. After paying, we merely told the owner he should have been more realistic and more polite about the wait, and he and his son flipped out. They started barging us around and making a huge scene. I thought it was going to be fisticuffs for sure. The guests I were with couldnít believe it: we had a Canadian and a Japanese lady with us. It felt like Fawlty Towers without the comedy.
