truly dire
shame, I used to come here as a kid and loved it. next to the cut (stiil is), but food barely edible. how do you get fish and chips so wrong, advertised as fresh, but i now live next to the sea and I think i can recognise long term frozen. daughter had veggie option of barely recognisable cauliflower and brocolli bake..awful..overcooked to a mush for a tenner! go elsewhwere, maybe it will get taken over by someone who gives a monkeys!!

Welcome? What welcome?
Wanting a canalside drink on Easter Monday we travelled out to the Eagle and Sun after seeing their web site proclaiming their warm welcome. When we arrived, at about 8pm, there were a few people at tables round the pub eating, but all the other tables were empty, laid up with place mats and cutlery, but had 'reserved' signs on - were they expecting several coaches of customers to arrive?

We went to the bar to order drinks and asked if all tables were really reserved - we were told in a very short manner that we could sit at table 5!!

Not my idea of a warm welcome!! Certainly no encouragement for people just wishing to enjoy a drink in a pleasant environment. And the beer was pretty awful to boot.

Maybe the carvery food is good - though i suspect that on that evening the meat and vegetables had been left out and uncovered longer than was good or healthy for them - but to my mind, to remain successful public houses need to actively encourage drinkers too, and the Eagle and Sun did not do that.

Best Value Carvery in Worcestershire
My family consists of 6. After visiting Tesco and buying enough food that would match that offered by the Carvery at Eagle and Sun in Droitwich, cooking it etc. We spent 51. The fod at the Eagle and Sun is the best food I have ever tasted, the plates are not small, the beer is good, the drinks are not over priced, there is a good selection and the atmosphere is great.
We had a lovely meal - got full up and had a round of drinks, for less than 25. After being totally satisfied, we enjoyed a relaxing drink by the canal ! 10/10.
