About the Pub |
|
The William Webb Ellis, which is situated in the heart of Rugby, is open every day of the week throughout the year. A unique feature of the William Webb Ellis is its fascinating tribute to the history of the game of Rugby Football.
Our aim is to ensure a friendly, comfortable atmosphere with superb food and carefully selected wines and ales and our delicious menus are based entirely on freshly cooked seasonal fare purchased, where possible, from local suppliers.
If you just want something to 'nibble' with your drinks, you can choose from our SCRUMptious beer snacks menu, definitely worth a TRY!
Whilst definitely not a sports bar, The William Webb Ellis is a compelling attraction for anyone who wants to enjoy good food and drink in a warm and welcoming ambience and at the same time experience a riveting insight into how the game began and how it has developed in the modern world.
If you have any comments to make about the service you received or any other aspects of the William Webb Ellis, we invite you to make your own historic entry in our visitors book at the bar or alternatively the 'comments section' on this site. We hope you enjoy your visit to the William Webb Ellis

Eileen Stuart The William Webb Ellis revelation!!!! What a surprise the William Webb Ellis was. The atmostphere was excellent. The rugby memorabilia was really interesting. The food was really good and fantastic value for money.
Paul from Northampton Unique rugby Themed Pub!! From Northampton visiting friends and family in Rugby, I was pleasantly surprised to be taken to the William Webb Ellis! The atmosphere was so cosy with loads of Rugby memorabilia which was definitely a talking point for us sporting fanatics. I was amazed at the unique screens on the bar showing Rugby coverage and the staff were very accomodating. I will definitely be making more trips to Rugby to sample more dishes on the first class menu which is traditional with a modern twist and the extensive wine list means its the perfect place to take my girlfriend as well as watch the game!!!!! James Wardle Fascinating - good food too! I couldn't stop look around there is so much rugby stuff to take in - it's a must for anyone who is interested in sport. The food was excellent and the staff (who were all wearing rugby shirts) were very friendly and chatty. I will definitely be going back. Thursday, December 23, 2004
Georgia Olner Best In Town All I have to say about the food at the William Webb Ellis is Hallelujah!! Gormet food at reasonable prices - everything cooked from fresh, including the bread made every morning. Definitely the best place in town. Thursday, December 16, 2004
nick thomas Great place to meet I'd not been to the Webb Ellis until recently but I'm glad I did. The food was great and there's a good range of cask ales, good place to meet for an afterwork drink and a bite to eat. Not been for a lunch yet but the service is speedy so I imagine there'd be no issue with getting back late to the office like a few places I could mention in the town. On the whole a good atmosphere, the staff were friendly and the food was top notch. Tuesday, November 23, 2004
