I first came here in over 25 years and fell in love with the atmosphere, the pub and the cider. Either sitting in the stillage room or out in the garden facing towards that other 'heaven' Norton St Philip. I continue to maintain an annual pilgrimage to this hallowed spot (sometimes its 4 times a year - but I do currently abide in Cambridgeshire!) May this pub continue to flourish! Wassail!!

Cannot wait to return...
This is the nearest to our auld 'Irish' pubs back home. It's a parlour and living room both with tremendous log fires and oozing with character not only from it's furnishings but also the friendly local customers and owners...

A true local pub
This is my favourite pub of all time. My father introduced me to it when I lived in Rode. Well worth taking a big detour for, then getting someone to give you a lift home!

my favourite pub near Radstock
Possibly my favourite pub ever - so far. I love the atmosphere, the tables, the fire, the friendliness of the regulars and especially the labrador. Wonderful Thatcher's cider and the best pint of Butcombe in the region. No bar which is unusual - makes you feel as if you are stepping back in time to some bygone era when beer was sold in someone's lounge. If you are lucky you might even get a cheese butty.

Fabulous pub
I thought this was a marvelous venue, as if stepping back to the 1950's. A pub where glasses are washed by hand, bar staff are void of any branding, beer is gravity drawn and people go there to drink - not dine. Long may it continue preserving a great English tradition.

Burning Plastic
I was horrified to see that the staff and customers at Tuckers Grave dispose of all their rucbbish by putting it on the open fire! I was there for a short pint and witnessed plastic being put on the fire four times. When I asked why they did this, they indicated that 'out here' they don't have a choice. Is Somerset so remote that they don't do rubbish collections?! I for one, won't be going back.
