About the Pub
The Sleat (pronounced 'Slate') Peninsula is affectionately known as The Wild Garden of Skye. Here one can see seals, otters, eagles, buzzards and many more wild creatures. The flora of this area is equally interesting. A relaxing walk through the woodlands in Spring can be quite spectacular with bluebells, primroses and wood anemones everywhere.

On the moors in Summer there are wild orchids and bog cotton, while Autumn brings a carpet of purple heather. Rocky shores are covered in sea pinks and lichens.

There are few places in Britain where you can stand by the sea under a star-lit sky and hear nothing but lapping waves. Only occasionally is the tranquilmty disturbed by a rabbit running along the stony shore or a seal snorting at play in the bay. Here is real peace.

The Ardvasar Hotel is rated as 3 Crown by the Scottish Tourist Board as well as AA 2 Star. Children and well behaved pets are welcomed at the inn and the languages spoken by the staff include French as well as Gaelic.
