as in Rome
The best thing about the locks is the grounds. beware do not order any food ......
as this will cosy you an arm and leg.
The first thing to do is buy a pint sit down outside at one of the tables this can only be done in summer or you will freeze your tits off
then you drink the pint and after reach into your carrier bag and pour yourself a pint out of one of the Bottles of cider that you have pinched or bought cheap from Lidls supermarket and keep re-filling all afternoon this is what most Exonians do and it's only the grockles and the thickies and the rich que up OVER AN HOUR to drink the overpriced crap real ale.

Greta pub for drinking not for eating
Perfect location on the canal bank, local ales and really large outside area for drinking overlooking the canal.

Food is unbelievably poor though - not to be recommended.

worth the trip
When I lived in Exeter it was always worth the walk along the canal path in the summer to this busy pub out in the wilds. Plenty of room to stretch out in the garden (even noisy kids can be kept at a distance!) with BBQs and games to mean an entire lazy day can be whiled away here.
