About the Pub
As a traditional country Inn, our menu caters for all tastes and occasions, ranging from simple ciabatta sandwiches and classic pub dishes like home-made steak & kidney pie, to more complex flavours, such as pan fried scallops with black pudding - enough to tempt any foodie!

As a Restaurant in Knowle Village, near historic Budleigh Salterton in beautiful Devon, the chef, Kate, wants to serve food that although local is a million miles away from your average pub food - but that is still priced affordably.
Kate prepares and cooks fresh food on the premises using quality ingredients, which are local where possible - with fresh fish delivered daily, beef and lamb from local Devon farms, venison from two local estates, cream and free range, new laid eggs from the local farms.

Seasonal speciality dishes in include: venison, pheasant and faggots.
Our menu changes weekly so whether you want a quick snack, a mid-week lunch or a superb evening meal out you can’t go wrong when you choose the Britannia Inn & Restaurant.
The bar is everything that you would expect from a traditional country pub…warm and welcoming, cosy and snug. Well kept traditional beers and a well-stocked cellar – with an open log fire that adds to that authentic country pub atmosphere.
Why should we be different? We believe it is important for us to provide the sort of things we like to eat when we go out - and that doesn’t cost a fortune. Simple traditional dishes well cooked and stylishly presented. Service will be offered by cheerful staff, who are pleasant and helpful, with the sole aim to make your visit a memorable one – for the right reasons!
We are passionate about providing honestly good Devon food with excellent customer service. Freshly baked granary and soft white rolls compliment the delicious starters together with homemade oatmeal biscuits and chutney to accompany our selection of cheeses.
'Sophisticated simplicity' is probably a good description of our philosophy. Nothing could be simpler or more delicious!
