Unwelcoming if you have the wrong face
I will just state the facts here. Finished walk up around the pikes Saturday (10th April) evening (at approx 10pm). I was joined by 2 other punters (white persons) and guess what, they got served first. There were 3 barmaids and after the 2 others got served, one of them went out to collect empty glasses, one went to check the pumps and the other went straight into the kitchen. It was only when one of them finished collecting the glasses and saw that there were no excuses in not serving me that I got my round. Will I be returning to Great Langdale yes but will I be returning to this particular pub, HELL NO. Will stick to the hikers bar attached to the Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel down the road next time.

Good(ish) Beer and Food
Its just what you need after a long day in the hills, but, it can be oppressivly humid ! ...... there is usually a good croud of happy/hungry/thirsty fell walkers and climbers enthusing about the days adventures and the music adds to the atmosphere......... BUT, More Air is Needed !!! PS Why No Local Brews (Yates, Jennings, Coniston Bluebird etc) ?? .....Strange.
