About the Pub
The Wheatsheaf in Woodplumpton has recently been taken over by Pete and Ness, who have come across the Pennines from North Yorkshire
The Wheatsheaf in Woodplumpton is a comfortable village pub. It is the only pub in the village of Woodplumpton, Preston Lancashire.
The Wheatsheaf has friendly staff and a host of locals to chat with and while away an hour or two. Always a pleasant place to drop by and have a pint. The menu looked very inviting with it's wide assortment of dishes.Serving food 7 Days a week from 12 Midday through to 7pm and extended to 8pm on a Friday. Our 300 year old pub is only a stones throw away from St Anne's Church where just inside the church yard is a boulder, which is said Meg Shelton, believed to be a witch is buried. Beware of the haunted fireplace!

Excellent Find
We chose this pub off the internet as being near but out of town to treat our son who is in the midst of exams at UCLan. Traveled from Chester. Good food, excellent young staff with pleasing Lancashire accent and a nice terraced garden. Well worth trying. Nice local church adjacent. If you go on a Tuesday or Thursday you can collect your pension too!

We travel to The Wheatsheaf now and again but have noticed a step change in the friendly buzz the place has taken on since Pete and Ness moved in. Pete has the Cask Ale like Nectar and the food is delish ! a massive credit to all their hard work.

Back to life.
PETE AND NESS HAVE BREATHED NEW LIFE INTO THE PUB. WE HAVE BEEN VISITING THE PUB FOR 18 MONTHS AND HAVE NOTICED THAT SINCE THEY HAVE TAKEN OVER THAT THERE IS A BUZZ AROUND THE PLACE. THE INTRODUCTION OF WHOLESOME PUB GRUB ENHANCES THE GOOD OL COUNTRY PUB FEEL.
GO ON! GIVE IT A TRY.

It's under new management now Peter and Ness. Found them to be very welcoming. They have only had the pub for 2 weeks and already the pub was buzzing with locals. The Sunday lunch was outstanding.
Shall be back with out a doubt.

Extremely friendly and eager to please staff , good atmosphere and really good value for money food. Would recommend unreservedly to any friends. A pub that tries this hard deserves to be successful.

I was on a sunday drive with my wife when i found the Wheatsheaf in woodplumpton. Its one of those country pubs which has not lost its quainte country feel, still full of charm and character which you dont get any more. The pub has a great history and also has a ghost if you can believe it thing is i am not really in to that sort of thing but they do have a picture of it by the big open fire. I was welcomed by all the staff where excellent and the menu was great, i would recommend the homemade pies. They have a great range of real ales and a wonderful beer garden to drink them in which allows you to sit and enjoy the sun all day reading your sunday papers as i did.

We chanced upon this pub .What a find- day 2 of kitchen open and the food was excellent. The produce was local, there was a good selection and the food was freshly cooked and well presented. Great hospitality.
