Satisfied customer
Called at the King Bill tonight the first time since the refurbishment it is clean and bright and the music is quiet and in the background. We called for the meal deal, two for 10. It was excellent value for money and the service was very warm and welcoming. We didn't realise it was cash only and did not have enough cash to pay for the meal, we were told not to worry and bring it in tomorrow, but we went back straight away. I would recommend this as a great country pub!

Warm, Welcoming, Reall Ale & Food too!!
Visited this pub on Saturday last in a party of 10.

Arrived very wet, cold & hungry after completing most Townley Loop! The Landlord was very welcoming and even offered to dry our wet clothes! He then sparked up a real fire to warm us!! The was really appreciated!! So much so we decided to stay most of the afternoon.
As a real ale buff (CAMRA member for 15 years) I can honestly say that the Timothy Taylors Landlord here was absolutely beatifully kept.
Tried the Blond Witch was also very nice.

Most chose to eat from the specials board and were very pleased with the tradition home made food.

Thank you so much!

Quiz Night Tuesday - Great
Second time I've been to the quiz night here. What a laugh!! No holes barred quiz master, funny too, always packed. Quiz entry is 1 and they do pay your cards right at the end of the night. Prize last night was 150 which wasn't won and will roll over to next week!

This pub was recomended to me by a friend. Its off the beaten track at the end of Shore Rd which terminates at the pub. No through traffic. Very good food!! Good atmosphere. Plenty of weekly specials to chose from. I will definately be retuning to this one. Good pint too; Guest ale was Moorhouse's Blond Witch Blacksheep & Landlords also on.
