Nice to hear that, some people may be upset that they are doing so well, they have the captive market, through hard work and planning, long may it last

no problems at the birley
I really don't know where these silly rumours originate but the owners Trish and Ian are fully committed to the future of the Birley and are continually investing into the business to continue the success. Head chef Graham used to cook for Princess Anne, and he and his team are passionate about making the Birley Arms the place to eat. We have a fantastic team of waitress's and bar staff who all work very hard to move the Birley Arms forward. So thank you meat for your input and support but rest assured your local will hopefully with continued support from all our customers be around for a long time to come

Birley Arms - Spot On
It's really doing well. Someone has done their homework. It must be one of the best pubs around. I have eaten a few times - also with friends; the food, as well as the staff - always spot on.

Super, smashing, great !!!
My husband and I have eaten at the Birley on numerous occasions since the refurb, and have not been disappointed once. We took our staff there for their Christmas meal and again it was excellent. All of the staff are polite, friendly, smart and attentive without being over zealous. We are going on Sunday for lunch with 7 friends and will no doubt enjoy the food and the surroundings. Keep up the excellent work.

A sunday in Warton
Well I drove past the Birley on Sunday at 2pm the place was packed, most eating of course, which is the name of the game. There have been a few moans by the old regular's, you know the one's who stuck it out before the refurb, a very well known local family went in on Xmas day for a drink, only to be told if you have not booked you cannot come in, I believe the next step they would have looked at the menue for another visit, I dont think so now. Still keep the food good and at a price people can afford for the next 25 years and it may scrape through.
Watch this space.
ps where are all the other comments, come on all those that had the freebie on open day!!!!!

I was not one of the chosen few who got the invite to a closed open night, I turned up on the Monday after, I was most impressed with the decor, it needed it, the thing that is going to pay for it all is the food, I do live local so I tend to go out further afield for something to eat, but I do go in for a beer or two, after all it is a pub at the end of the day, so I was a bit naffed off when there was no drink on the house or even an offer of one, I know they have got to draw the line somewhere, but after hearing from some of the chosen few what a good day/night it was, i hope they will keep on using it, even though there is no happy hour round the corner.
Best of luck anyway, roll on the food

Amazing Transformation
What a difference 4 weeks can make; I would not have recognised the stunning establishment that the Birley Arms has become. Old-style elegance with polished wood, flagstones, excellent decor and lots of interesting local history dotted around the place. The menu has been beefed up (with the Jack Daniels steak), there is a mini library, . . . . GO THERE, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED ! ! ! If I could, I'd give it 6 out of 5.

Went to the opening night on 6 December 2008 - what a night and what a place. The food was delicious and the whole place was very tastefully decorated, warm and inviting.

It is a credit to Trish and Ian and their excellent team.

Excellent under the new management
I started staying at the Birley shortly after Ian and Trish took over, and have been staying there on business for over a year; they've turned around what was (by all accounts) a failing pub into an EXCELLENT place that is very convenient for BAe Warton (15 minute walk). I am looking forward to seeing it when the refurbishment is finished (any day now)

Sunday Lunch
Visit report on the Birley Arms Hotel , Warton 16th Dec 2007

My Wife and I visited today for Sunday Lunch and have to report that the food was excellent. The Pub/Hotel has recently gone under new management and Trish and Ian make all visitors welcome. A refurbishment programme is under way on the Hotel Rooms and having seen one that has been recently completed they are being brought up to a high standard.

We would certainly recommend visiting.
