This pub has gone down hill
full of jobless and big issue sellers skining up.

Cream Tea was over priced and very small and the scones tasted stale.
Expected better.

Fantastic pub, atmosphere, really friendly
Very well run by landlord Jonathan and his attractive sister Jenny. Well trained staff, great food, lots of it locally sourced. A very traditiona pub with lots of note worthy artifacts. One of the oldest and under Jonathan's management, now one of the best in Falmouth. It's so easy to spend time enjoying the views from a seat on the quay, with a real ale or a cream tea! Just Brilliant!

Very Good
The chainlocker is a fabulous pub with a friendly atmosphere. The landlord is a bit of a dish as well only to be outdone by his amazingly beautiful and witty girlfriend!!

Great pub
One of my favorite pubs, since the new manager took over the pub has just got better an d better, fast friendly service, good selection of local real ales & good pub food.
Recently added a Pub dog to the staff and although a little excitable at time is also very friendly.

great experience
had a lovely meal at the chainlocker, service was quick and friendly. despite obviously being a very busy place when descended on by the hoards. ordered a moules and a baguette, both were presented beautifully . and reasonably priced. considering the amount of people around its surprising how the standards are kept high. and i did find that the staff were very approachable. fascinating old building in an interesting old town, great views too. the heart of falmouth in these busy seasonal times. a proper PUB

Some improvement required
Excellent view, fast service.

Haddock with pesto:- limp and soggy: salad resonable, but not crisp, and unimaginative, no pesto detected. Bread was underdone and floppy. My wife was unwell for the rest of the afternoon.

Fish and chips, I would have thought that it was hard to get this wrong but................. The fish in batter was utterly tasteless and soggy, there was so much food, that it was impossible to eat without spilling food from the plate, and I given the wrog peas after making a point the the waitress about mushy peas
Altogether the meal was a disaster, and if this is the standard of food that cruise ships can expect your establishment will probably ruin their vist to Cornwall.
Lasty, the cost was set for clients to expect a very much higher standard of food, and presentation than was evident
