Pub Carvery
Previous review ignored because of numerous spelling and grammar errors.
Poor meat selection.
In general, vegetable tired, dry and under heat lamps for too long.
Roast potatoes under-cooked.
Carver carved meat with no degree of finesse.
Dessert inordinately long time in coming.
Advertised dessert ingredients not available - substitute edible but awful.
the worst 'Carvery' dining experience I have ever had.
not an establishment that I would recommend.

wow!!
Was dubious about here as there are some unpleasant reviews, but I am so happy we came. Came last sunday on the off chance and didnt book, was greeted by the manager in a very warm and friendly manner who very quickly moved some tables and sat us down before we even had a chance to order a drink. He took our drink order and explained everything about the carvery with care and attention. My wife had a carvery and I had an 'ultimate mixed grill'!! Could not fault it and strangely neither could my wife (makes a change). It was very busy yet extremely welcoming and service was very efficient, well managed and everyone worked as a team. There must have been a few regulars in as there was a lot of banter between staff and customers. The only thing I could find wrong was it was a little hot in there. But what can you expect from a busy carvery restaurant. Have already booked again. Well done crown point, I did not expect it

Nice Venue Shame about the service
We pre booked a table for 17 so not the smallest party of people to be seated drinks order taken and then nothing we had to chase up after our drinks when they finally arrived the waitress took our food order and we waited and waited and waited after an hour ( the rest of the restaurant was not busy ) i asked if i could get a carvery for my 1 year old son who by this point was screaming his head off with hunger and i was told i would have to wait, then 5 mins later i was told i would be able to get it, we then waited a further 35 minuted before we asked if we would be getting any food as we had now been waiting for out main courses over an hour and a half, we were told we had to wait and we were not even allowed to get the other children in our party their carvery's when we finally go to the carvery the food was very well presented and tasted good but the chef was clearly over stretched and stressed , in all i would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to eat before they die of hunger shame because the interior and the food had a lot going for it

Shame about the manageress
Just returned from our numerous visits to be thinking never again.
Placed our order and when it turned up we were missing food items on the menu.
When challenged we were informed that these items of food had run out, was asked if we wanted additional items of food we asked for a small lreduction in price.
This was met with a vehement no way, Manageress proceeded to argue with us creating a scene amongst other diners. In two minds to return again.
Other staff were very professional.

Never again !!!!
Been there a few times and food has always been good. However the service does not come up scratch. Today's visit resulted in me being ignored at the bar. No room in the main resturant, so sat in the bar. I did try to book, but no one answered the phone!!! The bar was fine, but I felt that the waiting staff looked at us as second class citizens. Took over 10 minutes to queue and pay for food at the bar with no apolagies from the staff. The food came out in dribs and drabs so we didn't all eat together. When I complained, I was set upon from a member of staff, claiming that they were very busy, and it should have been made clear when we ordered that the food may come out at different times!!!!! But they did then go and chase up the missing dishes. Its such a shame that after being set upon by this memeber of staff, it has convinced us never to go there again!!!!!
May I add, that not all the staff are rude, and the food is lovely.

Good food - shame about the service!
We arrived and waited to be seated while the manager layed a couple of tables - not a great start, felt very silly standing there. He didn't even acknowlegde us. (on previous visit he was quick to seat us, but was patronising when we asked if someone could take our order. I heard him speak to some other customers in the same manner).
The waiter we had was very helpful and friendly...he was really busy, but never made us feel rushed.
Food is good (nearley very good!). We ate from the main menu this visit, but had the carvary last time. Portion sizes are great, so worth the money. Wish the diamond club wasn't just for over fifties as it's a great deal!

the food is wonderful and good value the wine is good and cheap. Its a shame Basil Forty runs the place no there is more than one there. All chiefs no indians I went to the bar to buy a bottle of wine told a bar man would be along stood for sometime he then said he would bring it over he then went behind the bar when the cue got so long it could not be ignored any longer. Served everybody remembered us and brought the wine over he was talking to a woman from head office. Just one waiter and four or five walking about in charge. Such a shame it should be a gold mine.

the diamond club menu is very good and the carvery excellent but the second time we went my husband had the fish and chips and it was not good - the batter was hard and tough and the fish inside only just cooked. this was pointed out to the waiter and the person we paid but apart from saying sorry about that no other comment was made - very disappointing.

FANTASTIC CARVERY
We visited The Crown Point on th 12/03/10. We found it while looking for the Toby Carvery, but has such a fantastic meal will def visit again. staff were great, even though we had 3 children with us, 2 being toddlers. The food is delicious well cooked and offers a great variety with the meat and vegetables

Wow! We popped into the Crown Point today and what a transformation - my husband Jack and I loved it. New managers were extremely friendly and the food was amazing. I have never seen such a beautiful Carvery. We will definitely be back and I'll bring along all my over 50's friends next time for the Diamond deal.

The Druce family
have been to crown point several times and known the place for over 20 years. Since the change of ownership/management this year have found the staff very welcoming and food very good each time a different dish has been chosen the standard has been equally good. Good value too.

Bags of Character
I have visited the Crown Point Inn, Sevenoaks Road, Seal, TN15 0HT following the review I read. It is dated 2005 and I believe has changed hands. No longer a Brewers Fayre - appears to be owned by a small company who have invested a lot of money into the site. Still good value, but with bags of character - excellent food and very friendly service!

A Value type of venue.
Typical chain pub-restauraunt venue, aiming at the bargain end of the market. But the food is good value. Hardly a place to use for a relaxing pint only
