Mrs Unimpressed
so good it's been closed down!
I wholeheartedly agree with Mr McDonald, the place is actually disgusting and it attracted so many undesireables it's unreal. The last time I was in there, I was attacked by pit bull terrier and the staff just laughed. The dog and staff should have both been put down. Frankly, if you value your life at all, do NOT go to the Right Wing! All the good comments have surely been posted by members of staff/owners of the Right Wing.
SO GLAD IT'S CLOSED!!!

Ben
the worst pub in Edinburgh?
Pablo, Michael and D Scoot.
Are you sure you were in the right Right Wing?
If you were, I can only assume that you people like a pub with slow service (if indeed you get served at all), filthy surroundings (asthmatics should avoid this place at all costs as every surface is coated in thick layers of dust), and toilets that last saw a mop when Maggie Thatcher was Prime Minister!!
I used to be a regular there before Attilla the Hun took over!! Since then the whole place has nose-dived to depths I would have thought no business could stoop.
I can only assume that you three are in serious need of psychiatric help, or more likely that you are friends of the landlady.
If a list of the top 100 pubs in Edinburgh were compiled, the Right Wing would be placed at about 500!!!

Good Food
The food in this restaurant is great and underestimated as the choice is extensive whilst combining traditional pub food with some unusual dishes which were good to try. The service was good but it would have been nicer if they smiled more than grimaced particularly the landlady (must have been having an off day). I would recommend this little gold mine of choice over the other eateries in the area which have little choice and very commercial.

Poor
I would like to tell you about my recent visit to the right wing pub on willowbrae road, Edinburgh. I have been in to this pub a few times now as i live close by but unfortunately the last time i entered this pub (and it will be the last time) i received the worst serve i have ever had at a bar in my life. My girlfriend and myself decided to go up for a couple of drinks at the bar before moving on into the restaurant for dinner. The bar was not particularly busy with just a few customers at the bar - 2 or 3 of which where waiting to be served and myself. Upon waiting untill the other customers where served i then lifted my hand to get the bar maids attention (who had already noticed i was waiting) and said 'excuse me'. The barmaid had obviously noticed as she had glanced up at me when i spoke, however she quickly turned away and ignored me - this repeated as i constantly tried to get some service after this lady had served 4 other people, none of which had been waiting to be served when i walked up to the bar. The only time there seemed to be only myself to serve she quickly disappeared into the back and reappeared a minute later. By this point i had given up trying to be served her and decided to try and attract the attention of the other staff member behind the bar. The barmaid i had originally tryed to be served by then pointed out other people to serve before i could gain his attention. By this point i was appauled at this behaviour and spoke up so that i could not be ignored any longer as the other staff member was there at the time as well. I asked 'would i be receiving some service soon as 5 people have been served who had come in after me and that i had been waiting over 10 minutes now to be served?'. Upon this question the barmaid did not offer her apologies, did not offer to serve me at that point and did not offer to serve me next all of which would have been courteous answers, instead she stated that 'all i had to do was ask' even though i had already done this and even though she knew i had been waiting there for over 10 minutes however this was also spoken to me in a most dissatisfactory manner as it was both rude, blunt and with a shoulder shrug. I have never written to complain about anything before in my life as i also work in customer service however i felt that this needed to be brought to the attention of your readers as it will prevent them from receiving the kind of shocking service that i did. I will now be going across the road to the Lady Nairne hotel from now on who only ever offered expemplary service.
