IN REPLY TO THE COMMENT ABOUT THE ROSE & CROWN,
In response to the last comment about the Rose & Crown, Stirchley, REF Ian & Tina Charles?? these were two of the best landlords since the days of Eric Wells, for the person who thinks that they ruined the history of this pub, only seems to me that this is ONE of many that were barred for either Drug use or misbehaviour, Ian & Tina ran a very good pub, and still do in their new one, The Rose & Crown was bought back off it's knees, and had a new lease of life with Ian & TIna as the gaffers from 2008 to middle of 2011. Ian stood no messing and drugs were a definite NO NO!!! Tina was the party girl, and was always welcoming and very polite, as were ALL the staff, every weekend i used that pub, but never AGAIN!!!!

Don't use the place, but often try to use the lane that runs past it into the Town Park.

A previous contributor has mentioned that it has parking for 50 cars - it has, but the customers are too idle to use the car park and block the lane instead.

The piles of rubbish lying around give it a particularly unwelcoming appearance

My great great grandfather, Richard Barnard was the landlord of the Rose and Crown at Stirchley around 1850.
In those days a pub landlord was a much more important figure than today. I have a marriage certificate describing him as a gentleman,

 Terrible food and service
Had a meal at the lion inn. The food was taste less and very greasy. The service was bad too, had to wait for our drinks to be served nearly 20 minutes. The two people at the bar were too busy gossiping. Do not recommend

after staying away from the rose and crown for a few years i was recently informed that it had been taken over and was now the place to go . with this in mind i decided to visit the rosie on a friday night . and when i walked in i could'nt believe my eyes . it was absolutly packed . there was a fantastic karoake on and it was great to see so many familiar faces from the past . the atmosphere was brill and the staff were so friendly . it was obvious that the new landlord and landlady have really done a cracking job in sorting out a pub that was almost near to being boarded up because of recent bad management . at one time i would'nt use the place because of the intimidation i felt from certain people . and it was always a troublesome pub . but at last the rose and crown IS the place to go . it has a zero drugs policy and a gaffer that wont stand any trouble or messing about .so that's a great reason for me to start using this great pub again . just like the old days .... so on a rating from 1 to 10 i give it 12 .keep up the good work ian & tina .. I would like to retract my statement about the Dirty Duck Mallard on Brookside. This place is a community centre for scumbags, it's a given that some normal people go here but a lot of these people who visit the place are complete illiterates. Dave who works there is a racist, fascist, sexist scumbag pig. There is fortnightly entertainment from Colin who looks like he would rather not be there as there are only a handful of people in front of him. the best feature of the mallard is that it is near a lake, so if by some miracle of God there is a landslide it will go down the plughole - so to speak. if u want to go to a pub where you are dissed/put down and served watered down beer and only have a few dirty tvs, darts and one pool table to entertain you then my dear friends i give you the mallard. enjoy it whilst it lasts.

Think about the most horrible experience of your life..and then times it by 10.

That pretty much sums up a visit to this ghastly place.

Very poor beer. Not a place for families. Just a bar full of thugs and bullies.

 Rose and Crown Stirchley
This pub seems to have attracted alot of bad publicity. I have been drinking in here now for a number of years and over the last 2yrs imparticular the staff has improved immencly, are polite hardworking and a plessure to be in the company of. I have never encountered bad behaivour or rudeness from staff or other customers.

A N Other NO.2
 Rose & Crown, Stirchley.
In response to the glowing report from Lisa Davis, concerning the Rose & Crown, Stirchley, I can only imagine that she has her Rose & Crowns mixed up! As there are several Rose & Crowns in TELFORD. I can't imagine that she is referring to the one in Stirchley, because after reading the report fom A N OTHER i have to endorse every word that so accurately describes this pub. And as i have never been refused credit, or been barred from here i can give my honest opinion: TERRIBLE ATMOSOHERE, TROUBLESOME, LANDLORD VERY UNTIDY, RUDE and looks like he drinks ALL the profits!! I have seen endless fights, seen drug transactions taking place, been subjected to extremely bad language from both staff and customers, and once i had the pleasure of walking into the toilets to be greeted by 2 people performing a lewd act, which is totally unacceptable.Need i say more? Needless to say Miss Davis, if this is your ideal pub then all i can say is you are very easily pleased and do yourself a favour and get out more, there are more welcoming pubs in Telford, with real friendly staff. So find yourself a babysitter and live a little!!!!!

It shows all the football matches on the big screen tv`s and has a pool table and juke box for socialising. The landlord and lady are very friendly and the staff are great. i always feel welcome so i dont know why someones bad mouthed the landlord proberly ex staff barred customers and those who have been refused credit !!! LOL!!!

Local pub with an amazing victorian bar
Clean and tidy traditional pub - seving Shropshire Gold, Hanby's Nutcracker, Hanby's All Seasons and Banks' Mild.
The food is basic - but home prepared and wholesome (Sunday lunch is excellent)
The landlord and landlady have only been there a couple of months but have already made a big improvement.
I loved my visit and will be going back soon - i sugest you do the same!

 Spectacular victorian pub
I don't think most people in telford realise what a gem they have in the Bulls Head. The pub has been loving and sympathetically refurbished recently and you need to check out the spectacular tiled victorian bar.
The beer and food are also great and the gaffers (Rob & Trish) seem really friendly.

great family pub suitable for all ages
Very good weekend entertainment, various performers on saturday evenings to suit all tastes. Great family pub with beer garden situated at the front and rear of the pub. Located next to a lake, very large car park and plenty of greenery to accompany. Lots of clubs and competitions to join within the Mallard including the Pool team, football team, dominoes, darts, etc. Large screen used in the downstairs bar for karaoke and large sporting events. Sunday meals are substantial in size and very good value. Lots of charity events are organised all year round down the Mallard that help benefit local charities and help to make a difference.

GOOD PUB, BUT SHAME ABOUT THELANDLORD......
The pub itslef is not too bad, majority of the customers are pretty good too, but as for the LANDLORD, what a complete waste of space he is. He is ignorant, rude, lazy, scruffy and does not have the right to call himself a landlord!!!!
