 Excellent Steak & Homely Atmosphere
The service was excellent, as was the food and wine. Nothing was too much trouble, Cosy atmosphere, clean and homely. We enjoyed our reasonably priced meals and would not hesitate to go to The Edisford Bridge again. Just sorry the weather was too bad to enjoy the beer garden.
Thank you for your kind hospitality.

 Excellent Food, Friendly Staff
We were very impressed. The food was excellent, and very good value. Drawing sheets to keep the kids entertained while the grown ups had a chat....

Next time I'm in the vicinity, I'll be back.

It was a real treat to visit the Pendle Hotel. We were warmly welcomed and had a lovely lunch. Unfortunately the weather was wet, so we could't sit outside, but noted the lovely play area for children. With the summer holidays looming this could be a real plus. Do try it. It's easy to find opposite Shackleton's garden centre. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

 A warm family friendly pub.
A warm family friendly pub owned and run by Tony and Yvonne. Good traditional local ales are served plus delicious homemade meals are available at lunchtime and early evening. A pleasant beer garden with good seating arrangements at the rear of the pub overlooking open countryside, outdoor music events take place during the summer months. Satellite television along with pool and darts are available. All in all the pub is well worth a visit.

 Great food in nice surroundings
By far the best place to eat for pub food at a very resonable price in Clitheroe staff are always polite smart and friendly. In winter the edisford is cosey with its open fire and in summer the views sat outside are fab. We ofen visit the edisford for a evening meal because it is always value for money. Good pint aswell!

Who Could ask for anything more!
This being my local I regulary frequent the White Lion. By far the best pub in Clitheroe with excellent staff and superb atmosphere. Whether it is a quiet night during the week or a bustling night at the weekend the White Lion has it all!!! It boasts the best sounding Karaoke I have ever sung on every Thursday and Sunday night, definately worth a visit. Claire and Pete do a superb job and make everyone feel welcome (the best landlords in town!!!!). The place has it all- get down and see them!!!!!!!!

A great pub with friendly staff and customers
thanks for the great response from you all. We are trying are best to make the White Lion one of the best pubs in town and it is easy when you have great customers like yourselves. Our bedrooms are only basic but we are spending money all the time decorating and refurbishing. We try our best to buy local products but we are only aloud one guest ale thats why we swap and change the guest ale on a regular basis so every local brewery gets a go. The Bowland brewery and Moorhouses brew excellent ales and we really rate their ales as the best around this area. I will give our pub a 4 rating as there is always room for improvement and improve we will.

A top spot for any traveller!
We moved from Clitheroe to Southampton five years ago and regularly return home to visit friends. When ever we do we always stay at the White Lion The pub is in a great spot in the town centre and since Claire and Pete have taken over it has got even better. Their welcome is second to none and the hospitality is exceptional. Room are basic, but clean, large and roomy and ghost hunters are welcome to stay in their listed haunted room - featured on Clitheroe Ghost Walk! If you are looking for a friendly greeting, great location and instant new friends then this is the place for you!

 Not Good
The beer in here is not good.... the staff seem to be waiting until they can go home as their mobile phones go off behind the bar - leaving the punters queueing for aaaages. Too overcrowded and extremely loud. Ok if there is a football match on, but dont expect a friendly atmosphere as everyone here seems to be in their own clich'

The Black Bull - Ace Food
The Black Bull in Chatburn.... with an excellent chef & open fires, you can enjoy a fresh cooked continental style meal with loved ones and family in a nice relaxing atmosphere, with candlelight to add to the ambience. I eat here regularly with my girlfriend and have never had a complaint about either the food, nor the beer.... its worth looking at!

The White Lion - 'Bustling, Booming, Beerful!'
The White Lion - Clitheroe's Premier 'Happening' Pub..... situated in the heart of Clitheroe town centre, is one of the most welcoming & friendly atmospheric pubs in the Ribble Valley. Pete & Claire do their upmost when it comes to hospitality. Not only does it boast an excellent entertaining night, with karaoke (Hosted by Claire and/or David every Thursday & Sunday night) but it also has numerous rooms that offer B & B at exceptional rates. Plenty of house ales & numerous special offers with cocktails and bottled drinks, on a regular basis.... this is as close as you can get to a complete night out inside one public house. With beer-garden to rear you can also sit out in the sunshine if you prefer, or maybe retire to the pool room for a few quiet games. Also a local drinking station for local radio station - TheBee - DJ Martin Greenwood, who can be seen strutting his stuff on the karaoke regularly. Oh, and of course myself - Joe Pentony.
So get yourself down, and see what you have been missing!

 Cheap And Cheerful
The landlady and landlord - Claire and Pete - are two of the lovliest people you'll ever meet, and the rooms, whilst basic, are clean and comfortable. They have recently taken over the place, and are working every hour to get this town centre pub back on the map as the place to drink and stay in Clitheroe. Well worth a visit just for the breakfasts at the weekend, or karaoke on Thursday and Sunday nights.

 A great pub
Don't be put off by the unprepossessing exterior. Inside you find what an English town pub is all about. Five rooms (log fires in winter) and about six different and always excellent beers, including Moorhouse and Phoenix. Typical prices (2 a pint) for the area. TV football in one room for them as likes it, otherwise no piped music and no food. In other words, go there to drink!!
