Pubs don't get much better than this!
I love this pub, a cosy, snug, stunningly classic little back street local. Real log fire, (mobile phones and smoking are banned) Superb selection of very well kept ales. Good value pub grub. Smiling landlady, slighly odd short wearing landlord.

A notable improvement under the new management... Large family friendly garden at the rear. Great Thai food. 4 decent Ales. Friendly staff. Frequented by a strange cross section of humanity, great for people watching.

Top pub and live music venue!
New landlords have really turned the portland around.
Live music is still the heart of the pub but with darts, pool, beer garden and really good food, thats no longer the only reason to go there.
A top night out, any day of the week

 Simple but delicious food
I've just stopped off here for lunch (7 July 05) and it was absolutely delicious. Simple but exceedingly tasty home cooked food - I was so impressed I'm definitely recommending this pub to all my friends and family and will come back with hubby and the children - thanks.

 My kind of pub...
... This is a truly wonderful establishment. As many of you, dear readers, will be aware, the 'King Street Run' is a peculiarity of nomenclature common both to this tavern and to the longstanding practice of consuming a pint of the landlord's finest in each public house along King Street. This is a jolly good place to start - and to end, if you can stand the pace! There is a rich mix of clientele, ranging from theologians to ousted New Labour MPs. (You will have to guess into which category I fall...!) Impeccably clean lavatories too.

 NOT a cyber bar!
2 computers does not make a cyber bar! Consider - the base units are on a shelf above head height out of everyones way, and the screens are 2 inch thick flat screens bolted to the wall - again unobtrusive!

Everything else remains the same - excellent ale, good food, and a good buzz!

A real pub with real locals and real beer
Traditional pub with small lively public bar and small cosy lounge, there is also a smart little poolroom out the back. Both bars have real log fires. Nice just to sit out front and watch the world go by.
Beer: Flowers IPA, Adnams Southwold Bitter... both on hand pump!
