 Great food
We like trying new places and sometimes it is hit one miss, but gwaelod y garth inn was a big hit. We had fish and chips and the fish was fresh, large portion and very tasy. I will be taking more of our visitors to this pub. Thank you.

 Welsh Weekend May 2011
Fantastic pub, fantastic food and excellent prices. Accomodation also excellent. A meal, three pints each and accomodation and breakfast for under 100. Unbeatable. couldn't buy a pint in London for 100. Well done, highly recommened.

Had a wonderful meal at the Gwaelod on Tuesday (13th July), starters- whitebait with chilli mayo and black pudding with goats cheese and bacon were suberb, would have loved to have tried more starters, but barely had enough room for the main course, which was saddle of lamb with sweet potato mash and fillet steak, both cooked to perfection, a good bottle of house wine to wash it down unfortunately left no room for dessert. Service was very good, as you would expect from a resturant managed by Barbara, disappointed that we missed her, but will definately visit again. The taxi booked for us by staff to take us home attempted to charge us a 4 surcharge for going out of area, which we felt was unreasonable as we only live in Church Village. But we didn't let it spoil our evening.

 Appalled at the Treatment received!
My partner and I visited with his two children yesterday and the treatment we got you will not believe. We telephoned before arriving and were advised that booking a table was not neccesary. When we arrived we asked for a table and were told that it would be a while before they could take our order, we said this was fine and we got a table and had a drink. We waited almost an hour before our order was taken. We then waited a further hour and after many other people who had arrived after us had received their food orders we were getting a little upset, especially as the children were hungry and bored! Other Diners had also brought my attention to the fact that many others had been served before us. I asked how long we would have to wait and was told we should be next, The owners response was so throw away and no apology I just said we were not happy - I expected a token gesture, perhaps a free drink or at least an apology but I was told that if I was not happy then I did not have to have the food! I said no we will still have it as the children were hungry, but I was not happy. I was then told that we could not have the food! I was so shocked and disgusted at the treatment I did not make much of a fuss, I would have made much more of a fuss if the children had not been with us! I am appalled.

 Nice Pub!
Took my daughters up the mountain and wanted to treat them to a pub meal. Unfortunately I'd missed the kitchen by about 15 mins as it closes at 2:00. The cheese 'n' onion bap was nice though! Bar staff friendly too!

 Definitely worth looking for
Three of us had originally set out to eat in another pub in South Wales. On arriving there, we found they were not serving evening meals that day and seven of the locals independently recommended the Gwaelod-y-Garth Inn. Having taken various wrong turnings and performed several precarious u-turns, we eventually found it and it most certainly lived up to its enviable reputation in every possible respect. We shall return - without getting lost!

 Fantastic!
The Creigiau inn is set in a gorgeous village and compliments its surroundings supberly! The warm feel, friendly reception, quality of beverages and amazing food makes each visit very worth while! Loved every minute whilst I was there and would most definatley be back again, this is mostly to do with Abi & Dave (the owners). Put the Creigiau Inn on your list of places to visit, I assure you, you won't be disappointed!

It's the closest pub to where I live. I used to pop in for a pint after work every day. After six months the bar staff didn't even know my name. My partner and I used to go there just to laugh at how rude the staff were. There has never been a chef cooking the food, there has only ever been temporary kitchen staff to my knowledge. this Brains pub has so much potential, it could be a real gem but I'm afraid it's not. I've stopped going there now.

 Excellent friendly atmosphere.
Just back after spending a fabulous 4 days in Llanrumney hall with a group of friends. I cannot say enough good words about this pub, a diamond in the rough. Peter and all the gang (patrons and staff) could not have possibly done any more to make our stay more enjoyable. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to experience the real Cardiff.

 A great PUB
Everytime that ive visited the Kings , i've been made welcome, if it be by the lovely staff that they have there or the customers , everyone has made me welcome. There is a good mix of people , even some that usually i wouldn't associate myself to even talk to, how wrong am I ?? The beer is ... well what can i say ... A FANTASTIC PINT!!

I thought that the days of gorillas on the doors was long gone??? However, visit the philly to see real live thugs who dont know the meaning of customer service. Its so bad that we wont go there any more. Apart from that, a good night otherwise.

 Terrible bouncers
I qued for ages for the philly last Thursday and when I finally got to the front, a whole group of people walked straight out of a taxis and the bouncers let them straight in. On polite confrontation with the bouncers as to why they were allowed in before people in the que i was spoken to in a rude manner and I will be reporting these bouncers.

Without Barbara the pub would not be what it is today.Staff are ALL lovely, food to die for (thanks Raymond and kitchen staff) and the time and effort that has been put in over the last year or so have made it a fantastic place to go. We go there at least twice a week to eat and have never had a bad meal, in fact it just gets better and better.

 Welcoming Pub with Good Beer
Whilst visiting Cardiff for the Welsh Rally (WRC) from England three of us were wondering down the main street in the town looking for a pub, not a trendy wine bar, not a club or a pub2club-type pub - just a regular pub. We'd almost given up when we found the Old Arcade. We popped in and got friendly service at a good price and excellent local Brains beer. To find a real pub in desert of trendy night-spots was most pleasing. Many thanks.

The Pantmawr has got to be one of the best pubs in Cardiff. The real ales are first class and there is a wide range of other beverages to choose from.  Absolute Rubbish
We've been there a couple of times and thre customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Everytime you go there (especially for food) they come up with excuses NOT to serve you. On the menu it says they serve their specials from 6pm-10pm yet if you arrive later 9 they will not serve you. Another excuse they fed us was that my son who is nearly 16, was not allowed in the pub past 9 o'clock because he was under 18. There is only one sign in the pub about age restrictions which states Children Under 14 Welcome Before 8.30. This is not a very good pub and i would strongly recomend you pick somewhere Else.
