 Lovely atmosphere, great beer
Had a lovely lunch of faggots and peas, and tried a few of the lovely ales on offer too. Pelenna from the Borough brewery, and one of my old favourites Speckled Hen. Nice warm welcome from the staff. And they didn't mind us eating by the fire. If I didn't live so far away I would be back soon.

 Great unspoilt pub.
I visited The Borough last Sunday afternoon with a view to checking out it's suitablity for an afternoon of song courtesy of Mountain Ash RFC Singers. I was knocked out by the hospitality extended by by Kevin,Mandy and the locals. Can't wait to return for an afternoon to remember, A must for lovers of proper pubs.

 Saturday Sport
Great day at the Boroughs last Saturday, a festival of international rugby on the big screens, lovely snacks at halftime from the landlady, shame about the Wales result, but didn't Ireland do well, never mind 3 more games to go, lovely atmosphere and plenty of good real ale Thanks

 Past Owners
Dear Ship Tavern,
Was wondering if you had any info on past owners? My grandfather Arthur Rufus Williams once owned and ran the Ship Tavern. Would love to find out anything about it's history...Thanks, Regards Rosemarie from South Australia

Our half-eaten meals and side-orders were completely cleared from our table whilst one of us was buying a lager at the bar and the other was in the toilet.
When we politely queried this, we were told by the waitress that as we had 'almost finished' our meals she has cleared them away. After some time the manageress appeared and offered us 2.00 (i.e. 1.00 each) off our bill. We considered this a derisory offer for the loss of at least half of our food, but no further offer OR apology was forthcoming. We were left sitting there wondering what to do, but nothing else happened so we went to the bar to query the matter. There we were told that we had 'had our food for nothing and that was the end of it'. Oh well...
We would have been quite happy to negotiate a settlement for the food we had eaten (around 50%) or to have received a dessert and coffee in place of the missing food, but in the end the staff were so blatantly rude and unhelpful that we decided to go, having first confirmed with the aforesaid manageress that no payment was to be made.
My advice? Don't go there!

I went to the bryncoch pub in neath today for lunch, and first i must say the food was lovley i have no complaints there. But the staff are the most ignorant and unhelpful that ive ever met. One instant i went for coffee which was served with no saucer sugar was slapped down on the counter, when i asked for a saucer and a teaspoon the bar man pulled a face and said something under his breath at me!.. Its such a shame as this pub could be one of the best around.. Get staff that want to work and give a dame about the paying public!!!!!!!

 Poor
Food was terrible, service slow. The waitress seemed more concerned about flirting with the bar manager than serving customers. Wont be going again.

 Friendliest Pub in Town
As the Craddock Arms is just outside of Port Talbot main town you can relax here in the knowledge that you can sit and have your pint and not be disturbed by any rowdy behaviour. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome and that your custom is appreciated (your not someone they HAVE to serve as they are getting paid for it!!) The ales are spot on....they obviously clean their line! There is always something on there entertainment wise whether your looking for a live band, karaoke, quiz or just a solo artist there a variety for everyone. They also cater for parties and will eiher give a free buffet or entertainment depending on the amount of people going. All in all one of the best pubs i have had the pleasure of drinking in!!

 What a fantasic meal!
The Crown Inn and Restaurant...it really is a deceptive place, inside it is has beautiful low beamed sealings, and a pretty restaurant. The food was absolutely fantastic, and what excellent value and service. The alacarte menu has something for everyone, and there are chef specials too! i would highly recommend this pub/restaurant. The chef 'Tudor', has won many awards and it shows!

 NOT A GREAT PLACE.
HMMM WE VISITED THIS PUB IN JUNE AT APPROX TWO THIRTY P.M. LOADS OF DRUNKS AND SOME YOUNG WOMEN WITH BABIES AND A LOT OF OBNOXIOUS LOOKING TEENAGERS THE BEER APART FROM BEING OVERPRICED WAS POOR AND STAFF WERE VERY DUBIOUS LOOKING CHARACTERS. THE OLACE SEEMS LIKE THE TOWNS HUANT FOR DRUGGIES AND I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS PUB AT ALL.

 Very smart, good food
Once a pub full of character (another way of saying rough), but now a very smart, civilised pub/restaurant. Food is far from cheap, but for a special day/night out it is worth it. As it is now a foodie pub, the only 'down' side is a lack of 'real' atmosphere.
