Just discovered that one of my ancestors (Richard Chapman) gave his address as 6 Kensforth Road Bush Inn in the 1891 census report. any chance of a photo of the pub and bit of its history? I would love to visite and try the beer but it's a bit far for me, I live in France!

Your Comments: Tried this place a few times, this is what happened- advertise home cooked meals (not) roast potatoes done in chip pan when complained about how hard/burnt they were, lovely Sara came over and squeezed the roaster in our faces and said they are soft inside??? cheap veg - tasteless. Asked for lean beef got fatty beef when asked for it to be replaced we were brought TURKEY??? and told well there is no fat on that. I hate turkey. sent it back and was served instead with the meat they use for the pies in the week - sent it back. Hair in the gravy boat and cold food. This is a selection of what we had on different days. We were then barred. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm Good customer service told us if you want to eat in a restaurant then go somewhere else. She then preceded to tell me she had been cooking for 17 years..............thought she would have got it right by now then? PS none of the villagers use the pub why?????????

Went today for a quiet family meal involving myself and my mother and my SEVEN year old daughter. We were asked to leave, why I hear you cry! what horrible crime had we commited??? My SEVEN year old daughter was wearing a high school musical top that had a hood on the back. The extra large man/women (sorry not been rude I really dont know what sex they are) smuggly sent her out with a smirk on her face, telling us that hoodies are not allowed and she was not allowed in the pub, as you can imagine I had one very upset little girl who thought she had done something terribly wrong. Rest assured I will no longer give this pub or the chain any of my future custom !!!! And also for anyone thinking of visiting, anyone wearing track suit bottoms are not allowed in either.

Eastfield Arms Daisy Barnsley Dont eat here !!!!
We went here today for the first time. At the time of ordering we were told there was no burgers or 16oz steaks left. I placed the order and went and sat down. Five mins later a staff member came to see me to say they had no vegetables left so ended up changing the food we had chosen. Thirty mins later our starter had still not arrived. There was only two staff members we could see, one serving behind the bar and the other serving behind the bar as well as cleaning tables and bringing out food. Not their fault it is extremely bad management. I chased up the starter and finally got it another ten mins later making it 40 mins to recieve starter. Then it took another 20 mins for main meal to arrive. Mums was awful it was the meatballs but mine and my dads were ok. I felt sorry for the staff they were running around trying to do everything there was just not enough of them. They need a manager who knows how to manage their staffing levels. A big let down

Durty Odwyers RM Barnsley Beer, cheer, and atmosphere!
Now that many of the Wellington Street bars have closed the crowds are heading up Market Hill. This pub is much more traditional than many of the new style bars and the best thing is that you can have a converstaion without house music pumping out of the speakers. Very friendly atmosphere, play a mix of eighties and nineties, show most matches. Overall a break from the madness of Barnsley nightlife.

Lockys is a regular tap room pub in the afternoon, (horseracing, cards, dominoes etc) and transforms into a nightclub for the weekend evening trade. There's never a dull moment in Lockys! (Pete and Eric can't play 5s and 3s though!)

Pack Horse Hotel Anon Barnsley Excellent family venue
The public house has very recently undergone extensive refurbishment. It is leading the way in becoming the area's first No Smoking public house and restaurant. It is decorated fantastically and is easily able to compare, if not better, the likes of Ardsley House or Brooklands. The meals are, as have always been, excellent, and very good value.

having recently complained regarding xmas day lunch and the poor service we were given i was contacted my the manageress of the eastfield arms who invited all 8 of us back for a meal completely free of charge,we went on saturday 15th january and i will commend them on the service and espically the food,it made up for xmas,other people in the pub were all enjoying there meals and it was a very enjoyable evening.we all commented that WE WILL book again for our xmas dinner and we will be going again in thwe next few weeks, Thank you for putting the situation right and we are grateful for the way we were treated.

having for the first time ever to go out for xmas day dinner,the eastfield arms leaves alot to be desired.It started of well but things went from bad to worse,I actually felt sorry for the manageress who was under so much pressure.May i suggest if you plan to ever do meals on xmas day,OVERSTAFF rather than understaff,we sat down at 1p.m and didnt get out while 3.45 and we missed out on 3 courses

we have had the longest wait for food ever. it took 1 1/2 hours to recive our meal from ordering.we even couldnt get to the bar for a refund because of the Q of unhappy families gettin their refund. our drinks were forgoten about when ordering food. after 10mins we went to the bar to remind them, and the bar maid was stood about doing nothing.
