 Flappers Bar Worthing
Closed down and demolished years ago. Now a block of flats.

We went for lunch, loved the flavours in the salad and great attention to detail. Staff were very friendly. Must get a lot of dog walkers coming through, judging by the amount of dogs mess in the car park. Other than that distraction, a lovely meal.

Had an ok night (mostly down to being with good friends) but the doorstaff dont seem to do there job, very polite but we witnessed a fight and they stood back and watched???? Barstaff were ok, but could be very short and quite rude at times, seeming to want to talk to there friends and serve them first while we had to wait despite being there first instead of serve other customers! Only go in for a change of scenery but after what was witnessed on saturday night will not be going back in for a while.

went there last night which was a friday night to meet friends doorman very friendly and opened door (thank you) then went to the bar waited for 10 mins while all the locals around me got served even though i had arrived earlier. got a YES? asked for a couple of drinks and got my overpriced drinks thought i was back in london! I sat down with my friend who bought the next drinks and i asked for a short and coke in a tall glass (im a lightweight and dont like to binge drink) when the drink came the glass was half empty i asked for it to be topped up please and was told in a surly way that it would be 60p more for a dash of coke (i thought she was joking) so i asked again and she said you pay i will top it up. i have worked in the leisure industry for 25 years and i could say they are the rudest 3 members of staff i have ever met.
They need to ask themselves do they really want to work in the industry?

First time at the Coach & Horses
First time at the C&H and was pleasantly surprised !! Under new management and the place has been refurbished to a great standard inside. Nice open fire which makes it very cosy, especially at this time of year. Friendly staff and a nice pint. Good do with a couple more real ales as only saw 2 , Old Speckle Hen and Sussex Best. Worth a trip there and if you have not been before.

I went tonight with my wife to the Coach and Horses. WOW has it changed.

What used to be a really good pub many years ago was utterly ruined by a prentious landlord who was openly contemptuous of his customers.

Thank the Lord he has now gone and tonight we went in to a totally different atmosphere, busy happy and with food OUT OF THIS WORLD for just 4.95 per plate. My wife had Bar-B-Q pork ribs with chips and good salad garnish, I had Pork and Apple Pie, wonderful Puff pastry and vegetables that were all fresh, cooked A Dente and actually TASTED.

Utter bargain, really friendly....just go and try...EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT

Used to be the place to go as an overflow from the Winelodge back in 94-96 for lads and lasses from Worthing Sixth form, cracking friendly bar staff. pool tables upstairs caught on as the main venue down that end of Worthing Town centre. Then it all seems to go wrong and the crowd moved onto the Vintners Parrot.
Having moved away from Worthing 4 years ago no idea if it's even still open

Tony Foot
Wonderful old Ale House (used to have its own brewery many moons ago) hidden away on Tarriing's narrow High Street. Beer is superbly kept - mostly Hall and Woodhouse/Badger's great cask ales, plus Wadsworths, and various guests.Has a cool courtyard with heaters and Jumbrella leading to a large well kept walled garden. Excellent home cooked food -good portions and value for money. Friendly staff and licensees! We will return!

 Great Steak
I had the Wexford Steak and loved it. Creamy mushroom and stilton sauce. Crispy chips cooked to perfection and peas. Excellent.

The apple pudding and custard was also spot on.

 changed name to BAR BREEZE
Probably the worst pub in worthing. Don't just take my word for it. Loads of pub nearby, they do very well. This pub is always empty. Atmosphere is nil.
Headbanging music welcomes you when you enterm even though no one in. Toilets are disgusting.
Couple of TV,S always showning skateboarding or some other rubbish.

poor food quality and careless attitude

 Doesnt exist anymore!
This was the best place to hang out. A proper pub with decent music and everyone just chilled out together, there were no chavs just cool people who liked to have fun. Then it got refurbished and completely lost all its punters. shame, bring it back the way it was. I think its a restaurant now or something.

 Great Pub
Walked past while mrs was out shopping. Wandered in to watch the rugby, and stayed all day.

Great pub, great staff, great crowd drinking there.

Best pub in worthing.

Nigel Sheppard
 Nigel, Shoreham By Sea
Well worth the travelling from shoreham, a quiet local pud (except for week-ends) selling the best kept beer in the area. Usually 6 pumps with a variety of beers from diffent brewers which change on a regular basis. Very friendly and reasonably close to the town and railway.

buggerface the drunkard
 all good again
after a change in management (again) things are vastly improved at the vintners, the return of a good dj on friday evenings and live music thursdays and saturdays and the return of friendly bar staff instead of the miserable waspish little tart that drove all her punters away
Wednesday, August 10, 2005Rating: rosettes

Last time I went nearly all beers were 'off', was going to eat but saw other people's food and changed my mind. An indifferent pub run indifferently by an indifferent landlord

 Very badly managed pub
Not enough staff to cope with weekend trade. Food very slow and not very good.
Monday, May 16, 2005Rating: rosettes

Desperate Dan should stick to eating cow pies cos he can't run a pub. Panhandle Pete's was a complete fiasco - the Half Brick is another in the making.

 Sadly no more
This pub was stripped out and has become one of those modern atrocities. It used to have its own brewery on site!
Sadly missed

 Nice pub, average food
The pub has both smoking and non-smoking sections and has a nice feel. The food was slightly overpriced for the quality - poorly cooked vegetables from tins and all steaks were 'medium well'. You could do a lot worse for food, but don't expect great things.

 ROCK ' N ' ROLL !
FANTASTIC! We had a brilliant night at THE DOLPHIN, we were lucky enough to witness The Broken Stones playing on Saturday night, and the new owners David and Mo are absolutely fantastic! great beer, great entertainment and professional people, running a proper pub! you just do not get this anymore, anywhere else in Town! go take a look! it gets better every time we go there!

 A delightful village Inn
An olde worlde public house that is steeped in tradition and is full of memorabilia of old Salvington.
The real ales are great and dispenced in perfect condition. The bars are clean and the staff are friendly. All food served is home made and well presented.
