As a child growing up in the 60's I would be allowed to sit quietly in the Paul's Head while my Dad played in the pub dart's team. My Nan and Granddad lived just around the corner where the petrol station is now located.

 Pride Of Stepney
Used to go there when it was the Pride Of Stepney gay sex pub. Sleazy times! Upstairs was a big cruising area with a snooker table where porn videos were played. Plus there was another smaller dark room near the stairwell. Downstairs was the bar and on some nights there was an amateur strip contest on the covered snooker table. Was quite sad when it closed.

 great atmosphere

This pub has a by the live music friendly bar staff and management. Fruit machines, itbox, 6ft projector screen for live sports, and dining during the day. Excellent in the Summer and Sunday roast on Sundays, this pub is a hit with family's, youngsters and old codgers alike.

The London Adventurer
 Nag's heaven!
A proper pub with a big TV showing footie, pool table and a decent bar at normal prices. Add to that gorgeous semi-naked girls who will sit and chat with you quite happily, 1 pole dances and 10 private dances - this place is pretty much perfect. They charge up to 3 on the door at busy times, at quiet times its free. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

 Great Place
This is a pub with plenty to pull a bloke in.
Lovely ladies who are friendly, good dancers and worth 10 for a private dance after you've contributed the mandatory 1 in the jar for them to dance on stage around the pole.
The girls chat to you and know what they're doing, while the truly surprising thing about this gem of a place is that it is actually a decent pub as well, serving good beer at reasonable prices.
I don't know about the City types who might go in there by day, but it was well run and a good atmosphere in the evening when I went there for 2 nights last week.

Its a great pub, much improved!
I would have to disagree with you Steve. We've started visiting Pickwick's again, as the place was really badly run before the new manager came along. It is far better now than its was before, with things improving all the time I reckon. Great entertainment aswell!

 rubbish after change of management
this used to our lunchtime and afterwork local. Not any more. No food, or rubbish food, beer now lots more expensive. It _was_ great especially the fish and chips, but now? AVOID!

the place had no atmosphere and the girls had no sparkle at all. White horse in Shoreditch a better bet as per R W.

 Oh Dear
The people who rated this dump must be easily pleased-three quid to get in, tired clapped out pole dancers- a quid in the jar every 5 minutes - there are better pole dancing bars in the area- try the White Horse

Welcoming comfortable atmosphere. Free juke box
Many renovations are being made at the Marksman. Ask the new owners, Dawn & Gary, to set up 900 free credits on the juke box for you, play a game of pool, have a pint with your friends.

the runawife
This is tucked away but worth seeking out - we've eaten here about seven times now and have never been disappointed. Something for everyone - fish vegtarian and real meat eaters alike. Better than your average boozer and although prices are a wee bit higher it's well worth it.

 Typical Eastend Pub
I must admit, I found this boozer by accident. Every place I go I meet characters, this place has characters. Love it! Just your typical eastend pub.

Not a busy and happening pub
This pub where it is situated is not busy or buzzing at all some days there would be 1 - 2 people from the morning until the afternoon. In the evenings it gets much worse where they end up having to close aerly. The regulars are local and they are mostly construction Irish workers as this is an Irish pub. It could do with a lick of paint and updating on their music for the juke box rather than always having to listen to Irish music. They have one pool table which is situated right next to the ladies toilet. The pub is very old and very cold. The ladies toiulets will only hold one customer the curtain in there could be taking down and thrown in the bin very damp cold and dirty. When I was last there on a visit the light in toilet had blown, they currently have 6 lodgers including their son, and if it was not for them then i see that the pub would not run at all. They do not serve food, and they could liven this up by holding competitions and the like to draw more people in.

 Friendly and fun
Fairly quiet in the week, but boy does it get busy on Friday and Saturday evenings! A very friendly atmosphere, clean toilets and great music make it the ideal venue to make new mates, have a wee or dance the night away. Watch out for Connie though!

Gay/Mixed Late Night Cabaret Bar with DJs
A fun, funky gay cabaret bar a stones throw form Stepney Green tube station. Very busy at weekends. Often features drag artistes/karaoke/singers/go-go dancers/pool table and djs. Drinks are at pub prices and a door charge of 3 after 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights. Great atmosphere, friendly staff too.

 Dreadful food, slow service
I have to say I had quite simply the worst meal ever here. I ordered a Panini which turned out to be a bap with a filling that looked like leftovers smothered in mayo. Bar staff were slow (and thick), service was dreadful. Avoid like the plague
