Shame to hear that the Ram has gone. I remember drinking there some 35 years ago. Then moved away. But remember it serving Great Ciders, and a good place to go, friendly people there. But now I brew my own so all is not lost.

 Nice but expensive.
The Goat Curry was nice but never worth the price.
three of us and no change out of 50.00 quid not including the over priced Drinks.
Still the Children loved it.

1st July One Ten formerly known as The Anchor will open. As a lot of locals will know it has been closed for months following the previous landlords' departure. During those months it has been refurbished, the bar refitted and new staff employed. We have put so much hard work in to this place after it was in a state, it is now unrecognisable with a lovely atmosphere, bright interior and lots of welcome changes. We look forward to seeing you all and hope that you will support us after making this pub what it should have been many years ago.

My brother was meant to do a gig here tonight but arrived after driving over an hour to discover it's closed down! The landlord never rang to let him know it had gone bust!

 swann inn godalming
I am looking for a hotel and restaurant to accomodate the participants of a funeral on Friday 26 January. My mother died in France and the repatriation is taking some time, hence the delay in the funeral. She will be buried in the family plot at Fernhurst cemetery and we envisage at least 30 people attending, many of whom will need accomodation for the night of 26 January. Some of us might need accomodation for the Thursday 25 January.

Could you tell me what prices you offer for a group booking? In a few cases,we would like to have triple rooms. Also, do you offer a buffet lunch menu? Could you give me some idea of what the price would be and, of course, if you are available on that day?

Many thanks

 top place
Unpretentious pub with excellent beer, decent (if basic) good-value feeds and a mellow atmosphere - what more do you need? Just the library in the pool hall and two beer fests a year.

Excellent pub and a beautiful garden
This is once again my favorite pub - an afternoon in the garden sums up a perfect english summer - beautiful! - The only place to go if you're in or around Godalming - excellent family running the show and great selection of drinks. A must.

 A Week at the Ram...
I had the pleasure of being a guest Carolyn's in 1996 for a week at both her home and the the Ram. She was a gracious and fun loving host who would go full tilt for you at the drop of a hat. I'm sad to hear that it's gone but will always remember getting the chance to pull pints at the Ram for the regualrs. All my best to Carolyn.

A link to an article about the closing...

passing through Godalming when we noticed you you did lunch at lunch time we called in and the food was really good and plenty of it. The couple working were very charming and while talking to them we found out they had only just taken on the Charterhouse. We wish them every success in thier venture and will certainly be calling in again. We would recomend you try it out.

 The oasis in the desert
The new landlords have done a fantastic job on this pub. Prior to them taking it over it was very drab and run down. They do have a great beer garden - an essesntial for the kids. Food is excellent and they have just started Sunday lunches. This is a real gem. Get there to be part of a great local.
