 Closed
Don't know what pub Shady had problems in, but the Seven Stars Sandon Bank closed in 2010 and has been converted to housing. It wan't the Seven Stars at Brocton either as none of the staff remotely resemble his descriptions and they are a really friendly bunch there

 Welcoming & Good food
My friend and I meet regularly for lunch and chose the Mill recently as we had her 6 year old daughter with us, and were aware of the excellent playground and garden area. We had an excellent meal (as usual) the Goats cheese salad was particularly good. We were made very welcome and were impressed with the Childrens menu

If I was ever to open up a pub I'd want it to be like this one. The food, staff, setting and facilities are all top notch - it's a bonus that it's all so reasonably priced. Well done to all concerned.

 Very warm and welcoming
We had never been prior to re opening, but are very glad we have now, very warm welcome from everyone, regulars included. The food is excellent, a varied menu to choose from. The pub has a very nice atmosphere, as does the restaurant. One of our favourite places to eat at.

 Value for money....not!
Called in for a meal Sunday 4th December (in truth our tried and tested haunt only a mile up the road had stopped serving otherwise we wouldn't have eaten here). Our party consisted of four adults and one 11 year old. The food quality left nothing for concern although the service was a bit slow. In fairness we weren't in a hurry and we had been informed the preparation would take around 20 minutes because everything was prepared fresh. I had no reason to suspect this wasn't the case. We only had one round of drinks plus a main couse each. Total bill came to 80. I paid up and didn't scrutinise the itemised bill until later when I discovered that my 11 year old's side order of a (small) plate of chips had cost us 2-75!!! I've eaten in some well respected establishments all over the country/world but these must rank as the most expensive chips I've ever experienced.

awful food, small portions and expensive
The day we were there everyone was complaining about the portion size. We felt very sorry for the poor guy behind the bar taking all the flak, it wasn't his fault the food is so bad no one from the kitchen appeared to help him, I suppose they knew what a waste of money the food is

A Local
 A fab nite out!
The Land Lord and Lady of this pub are fantastic. Everyone that works here and frequents the place are so friendly which is rare for Stafford!! No offence Staffordians i have lived here for 10 years so it can't be that bad! Back to the Doxey Arms they serve excellent Guiness and have a house double vodka for 2.00! They occasionally have a fab disco and / or karaoke nite which the children can join in until 9pm. If you are feeling peckish they sell lots of different snacks including Nobbies nuts and crisps. Definately worth a look in as the Land lord and Lady certainly have bags of Irish charm.

 Poncy & overpriced
Beautiful food but so little of it, arranged like a work of art on a plate. I left there after a three course meal feeling as empty as I went in.
Alright, if I want a blowout I'll go to a transport cafe, but I felt their portions were unreasonably twee.

When was the last time you heard someone say Mmmmm! when tasting food .
I heard exactly that when my wife and I ate here last Saturday. It sums up the quality of the food nicely. Well presented, prompt, hot and very tasty.

 Really Dissapointed
It must have been a bad day for them. My beer was cloudy, the replacement also not right. The alternative thin and tasteless almost as if it was 50% water.
The food arrived (Sweet & Sour Chicken) it was bland and uninspiring. The garlic bread was extremely salty. and the chips which arrived unexectdly were re-fries. The staff were friendly enough but I simply left dissapointed. It will be a very long time, if ever, before I return to eat here. Ther are many other places to eat around Stafford that are consistently serving far better dishes than this.

Good Pub, nice beer,
but what lets this place down is the staff.
Jon is scruffy, Eve is surly and wrong about music. It was NOT the Smiths.

Nice lager and it's next to bookies aswell!
It's full of lager louts, who sit around gambling all day and watching the football.

There's never any trouble and everybody is very friendly.

Nice food and a top pint of carling.
