Worst experience ever.
Landlord was rude, foul mouthed, aggressive, even threatening for no reason whatsoever. Though local pub will not being going back.

This pub is under new management Summer 2012 and I can assure you that the pub is clean and was awarded Four Stars for hygiene and cleanliness. The new telephone number: 01225 781221 and a warm welcome awaits you.

 our family meal
we went with our children and grandchildren for a sunday carvery. Well,I really did think the rudeness that we encountered died out years ago. The staff were unhelpfull, rude, condesending and the whole meal was a waste of time and money. If you want to complain, dont go here. In this pub the customer is never right,.

 Christmas Carvery for 9
I can honestly say this is the best Christmas meal we have had at the H & H and we have been going there for a considerable number of years. The service was impeccalble, the food outstanding and the price reasonable. DO give it go you will NOT be disappointed

This Pub has a brilliant atmosphere and Landlord and Lady, Dave and Sally are fantastic hosts!!

I visited on 18 October 2011with my partner for a meal in what looked like a lovely place. We both ordered sheperds pie with vegetables. The meal was thrown at us in a very casual way and was a dish about 5 inches diameter with food to a depth of half an inch. the potato on top was about an eigth of an inch and burnt to a cinder. It tasted of nothing at all. The vegetables were undercooked french beans as chewy as rope and a few carrots that were undercooked. We ate it because we were starving. The bar girl took the plates without saying a word. This was the worst meal we've ever had in a pub and will never return. Afterwards we went to KFC and enjoyed a really tasty meal for a quarter of the price we had paid for the dreaded Sheperds pie!

 The Hungerford Arms
I was passing this pub on my way to Bath one lunchtime last week, and decided to try something different from the usual pub grub. The Hungerford Arms specialises in Thai food cooked by a lovely Thai lady with a big smile. I chose the chicken stir fry and rice which was freshly prepared and brought to my table in double quick time. The chicken was very tasty, the vegetables fresh and crisp (unlike many attempts at this dish in which the veg is soggy and overcooked). The rice was absolutely perfect, pure white, fluffy and complementing the overall meal.

The pub itself was very busy. The bar has the genuine charm of a 16th century pub. The landlord (Dave) is very welcoming and friendly.

Outside in the newly refurbished patio garden, the views of Farleigh Hungerford Castle are just amazing!

 We have changed!
Hi, I am the new landlord at the Hare and Hounds. I have been here since late last year and we have made some massive changes at the pub! The food is far better quality and the service is something we are always trying to improve on to give our customers the best possible service! I understand from looking at reviews on the internet the pub has been hit and miss for the past few years, but as a team we are trying to restore this great pubs reputation! I hope that bad previous experiences won't put you off coming and giving us a try now!

I first came here in over 25 years and fell in love with the atmosphere, the pub and the cider. Either sitting in the stillage room or out in the garden facing towards that other 'heaven' Norton St Philip. I continue to maintain an annual pilgrimage to this hallowed spot (sometimes its 4 times a year - but I do currently abide in Cambridgeshire!) May this pub continue to flourish! Wassail!!

 Cannot wait to return...
This is the nearest to our auld 'Irish' pubs back home. It's a parlour and living room both with tremendous log fires and oozing with character not only from it's furnishings but also the friendly local customers and owners...

This is my favourite pub of all time. My father introduced me to it when I lived in Rode. Well worth taking a big detour for, then getting someone to give you a lift home!

 Sh-tty chef
We were there yesterday and 'met' the rudest service from any chef that we've ever come across. At this point I should mention that Christine the manager was EXCEPTIONAL and promised to have a word with the chef at the end of the lunch service. Though reluctant to give his name as Louis, I waited to at least five minutes at the servery to ask which foods wer gluten-free for my young son. I could hear tom-foolery in the kitchen less than 1m away so stuck my head in to ask for assistance. 'Louis' told me to get back where I was meant to be. I retreated to beyond the door so as to talk to him. He then ridiculed me saying 'further, further, come on, behind the line.' He begrudgingly told me which items contained gluten and just shook his head when I asked if he had a tiny piece of cauliflower that wasn't covered in white sauce for my son to eat (i.e. gluten-free). His responses were so rude I was shocked and said that I had a good mind to raise his behaviour with management. He laughed and said that I could do what I wanted and that nobody there gave a damn about management!!! Christine (manager) couldn't have been nicer, and with good food we would possibly return. Do not put up with the same poor service we did though please!

 my favourite pub near Radstock
Possibly my favourite pub ever - so far. I love the atmosphere, the tables, the fire, the friendliness of the regulars and especially the labrador. Wonderful Thatcher's cider and the best pint of Butcombe in the region. No bar which is unusual - makes you feel as if you are stepping back in time to some bygone era when beer was sold in someone's lounge. If you are lucky you might even get a cheese butty.

 Fabulous pub
I thought this was a marvelous venue, as if stepping back to the 1950's. A pub where glasses are washed by hand, bar staff are void of any branding, beer is gravity drawn and people go there to drink - not dine. Long may it continue preserving a great English tradition.

 Best. Pub. Ever.
Seriously, having been a regular at this pub for 2 years, I can honestly say there is no better drinking establishment in Bath.

The landlord is a great guy and really has the perfect blend of booze, music and pub games down to a tee.

Do yourself a favour, get down there now!

 Burning Plastic
I was horrified to see that the staff and customers at Tuckers Grave dispose of all their rucbbish by putting it on the open fire! I was there for a short pint and witnessed plastic being put on the fire four times. When I asked why they did this, they indicated that 'out here' they don't have a choice. Is Somerset so remote that they don't do rubbish collections?! I for one, won't be going back.

 Excellent for walkers.
Walked from Marshfield to Northend and stumbled across this very delightful pub. A warm welcome was given and the Gem beer was very good having been kept in excellent condition. The ambience of the pub was lovely and the renovations had been very sympathetically done. The garden would be a lovely place to sit in the good weather. This pub is a must for walkers in the vicinity.

 Avoid if you want food
Food we had was prepared day before and re-heated. That's a whole bagette and its fillings put back in the oven/microwave. Baguette was burnt and the chicken was dry and rubbery.
Very dissappointing. We have run out of patience with this pub.

Scruffy and tired but it has a heart
This tiny pub only has seats for a handful of drinkers. It's a tiny room with a bar right in the middle. Very old-fashioned, this place has avoided make-overs and developments for years. But it has a heart. Reasonable beers. Very central in Bath.

Best pub in the centre of Bath
If you're after a quick pint right in the middle of bath this can't be beaten. Luckily it's hidden enough to keep the tourists away. Great beers (local Bath Ales, guest beers). Good bar food (separate restaurant upstairs). Friendly atmosphere and staff, a good place for a quiet chat. And you can take-away a mini-cask (8 pints) of the Bath Ales at closing time!

 A hidden gem!
Well off the beaten track, hidden away in a residential cul-de-sac is this little gem of a pub. Small garden at the front, this laid-back quiet pub mingles with the rest of the small terraced in this lane off Lansdown Hill.
Great food, 3 good beers on tap.
Food is definitely a cut above your standard pub food, starters average 5-6 pounds, mains 11-12 pounds. Good fish, meat and some veg options.
