Three Pigeons mike almond Banbury a country pub in the middle of a town
So refreshing to walk into a pub and immediately feel at home. Mine host chatted to locals who took my son and I into their company in an affable yet not over-familiar way. Menu favourites were suggested by regulars, jokes were cracked by a idiot called Steve who claimed that he was unable to find his village whilst Bob Dylan played on the jukebox. If I had been delighted by by the welcoming atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks, then the Three Pigeons had saved its best surprise until last , , , the freshly cooked food was to die for. Brandon decided to try Jan's Special Bolognese while I went for the recommendation of retired teacher Malcolm and his beautiful wife Sue who both advised me to sample host John Goust's Chiilli Con Carni. It was out of this world. I now have no hesitation in advising anybody to pop in for a drink and a bite to eat - just to find out what they are missing! If you are as impressed as my son and I were (we stayed on for a brilliant karaoke night) then you too will be converted. The Three Pigeons is now my local and I believe that it may become yours too . . .

Probably the most attractive pub in an area not known for its well appointed hostelries - most of them being tired and run down. A very amiable management team, good staff and food that is unprententious and well presented.

Brasenose Arms Eilidh Banbury Excellent
The food was great but what was really great was the friendly atmosphere and pub staff. A summer storm trapped us at the pub for longer than planned but we were openly welcomed, including our wet dog. They even gave us complimentary tea while we tried to organise taxis back to Banbury after our delicous meal. The perfect country pub landlords.

Fantastic pub serving fastatic food. All served by friendly staff in a nice cozy atmosphere. Good Beer and really welcoming. I would reccomend the George and Dragon to anyone!

Brasenose Arms Eve and Phillip Banbury WOW ! what a meal
Stopped in on a sunny saturday, great new Landlord and his wife, who is also the chef, beautiful new restuarant and the meal was great, we are hoping to return as they have a curry night on mondays, they were so friendly and we really felt like they are enjoying their new venture.

Sue and Roy Tydeman have purchased the Brasenose Arms in August 2005. The Restaurant has been fully refurbished and a completely new menu is available, containing pub favourites to A' la carte. The Bar will be redecorated in November. Live music will be a feature in the Summer months in the large garden. Bed and Breakfast accommodation is available in the converted stable biulding at the rear of the property. We extend a warm welcome to all visitors.

Duck on the Pond Anton Keyte Banbury Superb food and a lovely welcome!
The food is that good at The Duck On The Pond, that we have eaten in their restaraunt 3 times in the last fortnight! They have a wide range to choose from and everything we have had so far has been delicious. I can certainly recommend the smoked haddock as I have eaten it several times now! The service is brilliant, with a number of very polite and helpful staff. Best of all is that the prices are very reasonable, which means that we will be returning time and time again. Thouroughly recommended!

Pear Tree Inn Jenny Banbury A Warm Welcome
Super place which always welcomes a 'tube' of Smart cars when we are on a day out, either motoring or walking. Always served with a smile by the happy chef - really decent food on offer also. Well worth a visit - but not the the Smart Club is there!

Well worth a visit, warm welcome, great food. Traditional pub great atmosphere. Real ales from the back of the bar (haven't seen this in along while !) Home cooked Sunday lunch well worth a try, comfortable seating and dining areas, along with a traditional log fire. Accomodation available but not tried. Well Worth a visit!
