Helen Iwanczuk A community asset
A good old fashioned pub, located in Kewstoke which is a few miles away from Weston. When I first visited The New Inn, they had a seperate tea room/games room. During our visit last summer, the room was closed, but the new landlord said it might reopen in the near future. The landlord was a friendly chap, he told us that he used to manage a pub in Dursley Gloucestershire, which was nice. Some of the drinks on offer were Thatchers Haze, and Wadworth 6X. There is a courtyard at the back of the pub, which is a nice sun trap. The New Inn is a real community asset, and we look forward to our next visit when we are in the area.

Helen Iwanczuk On the road to Weston.
The Anchor Inn is a picturesque road side pub, on a busy main road, it is now under new management. They are serving hot food and filled rolls, I had a cheese and pickle roll which was generously filled, fresh and tasty. I cannot comment on the drinks selection, because I ordered a diet coke. The Anchor has the feel of a proper traditional pub, without the bells and whistles – which is fine by me. If I am in the area again, I might call in and try something from the food menu.

Extremely disappointing waited 50 minutes for 1 jacket potato, 2 children's burgers and 1 quiche with chips, despite being 1 of only 3 occupied tables ( of no more than 4 people per table & not all eating) in the bar !!! Unfortunately ran out of time (2 hrs) to wait any longer for the kids deserts already paid for !!! :-(

Doug Fowler Finest pub in Clevedon
Good, old-fashioned pub with a fabulous atmosphere. Lovely log fire and warmth in the welcome too. Library is a great feature where guests can borrow books, read them and return - free of charge. Great system whereby guests can leave excess home produce - such as vegetables - on the shelf opposite the bar for others to enjoy. Good beer too!

Andrew Arnold Manager is the most rude I have ever met
Went to the Salthouse for drinks today. Was astounded when in front of my family and friends the manager/owner accosted me afterwards and ordered me out of her car park because she wanted to get more customers in. I have never been so badly spoken to by a pub owner. She was most arrogantly rude I couldn't believe it - will never go again. Their loss not mine. Recommend the rest of you also vote with your feet - go down the road they are friendly there.

T It's all gone horribly wrong...
The Old Inn sadly has been dying for several months. The once varied choice of real ale went, quality was erratic, and there was a horrible feeling of things running down. The new landlord took over and ther were hopes of a revival. Alas not, poor beer, prices up, and a charisma black hole for a landlord. It's going to die, I'm thinking that may be part of the plan.

Liz Lovely place with fantastic landlord
Fantasic night spent here. Basic room but had kettle/tea etc. and once shower had been explained to us, hot water was not an issue. Incredibly friendly landlord who helped us organise onward travel through the Cotswolds and fed and watered us in the evening. Friendly atmosphere in bar at night. Great breakfast which was included in the price - cereal, juice, tea/coffee followed by a fry up. Landlord even got up and cooked earlier than he usually would so we could make an early start and then gave us bread for our onward journey at no extra cost. Highly recommended, for the friendliness and generosity of the landlord if nothing else.

A really good, friendly pub, Always a good atmosphere and friendly people. I have been there four times now and never had any problems - it gets better with each visit but if you are upset by the biker image it may not be your cup of tea, look through that and you will find a sociable venue with good music and beer. I am not particularly a biking enthusiast - long may it continue.

Service was slow unorginised and poor. Wait for meal was over 45 minutes for starters and about the same for main course. Food very poor; beef strogonoff contained more fat then actual beef. Complained about food to waitress but believe this fell on deaf ears.

Steve Best food & entertainment in Clevedon
For an ex-chef & for someone who eats out with my Family most weekends in Clevedon. THE SALTHOUSE has to be the place to go for food & entertainment. I was out for a meal with my family last weekend at THE SALTHOUSE, when we arrived, we were all greeted smiles from the helpful and friendly staff. The Menu & Specials Board offer great choice at exceptional value, all our meals were cooked to order with fresh produce, unlike most of the other pubs around the town who reheat precooked food. After the meal we sat in the snug part off the Bar for a quiet drink. My two youngest were offered paper & crayons to keep themselves entertained. My eldest son & I returned to THE SALTHOUSE in the evening to listen to the Band (They were Amazing); for the amount of people in the pub we hardly had to wait at all to get severed. The heated umbrella system on the patio is the perfect asset to the pub for the British weather allowing people to sit inside and out day or night. I am glad to see that the management at THE SALTHOUSE know what they are doing. My family and I would like to thank the management & all the staff at THE SALTHOUSE for our exceptional Meal & the superb entertainment. THANKS AGAIN I would recommend anyone to take a visit

I apoloagise to the Salthouse Pub and Restaurant for such a poor review and wish to retract this. I made a mistake as I went out 2 days in a row and slated the wrong pub. The food we had at the Salthouse was of very high standard. Amazingly fresh food cooked to order no microwaves it was fantastic. I will be back, I would like to apolagise for my drunken madness and I look forward to eating there again.

Phil Elliott Worst meal in years
This meal was unbeliveably poor. I only know that my 'curry and rice' was a prawn curry by the presence of some tiny shrimp-like morsels. Bland and tasteless. My wife's 'beer battered cod' was little more than a fish finger, and not nice fish either. A friend's fish pie was anaemic in the extreme, and if Bob's chicken was 'supreme', I'd had to meet one lacking in confidence. A handful of chips was the only accompaniment. Awful, awful, awful. At least the waitress was friendly.

lilmzsmiles AVOID THIS PUB LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!
This is the worst place to visit. the pub is pretty enough, yet the owners could curdle milk with thier poor customer service and cold food that is masqueraded as a hot menu and the mangers think nothing of abusing customers who want to use carpark, threatening them with a clamp. There are no signs anywhere in the carpark to indicate that would be the case! The mangers think nothing of abusing people in the road and god only knows why they were ever given the responsibilty of running a pub! I would advise anyone to avoid going there, the Salthouse, Crabapple all have excellent food and service and i would recommend anyone to avoid this place like the bubonic plague. (unless of course you want to be subjected to a tirade of abuse) Yes i had my children with me and they witnessed this! Absolutely shocking!

Louise James and Family Friendly and Helpful
My Family have visited the Salthouse Pub on numerous occasions. The food is great and fresh. The menu and specials board offer a great variety at very reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and helpful and greeted us with a smile. Their outside area has a stunning heated umbrella that is great for families and with the park just opposite what more could we ask for. We visited the pub on a very wet day and we sat in the snug in the rear of the bar. The manageress gave us crayons and colouring books for our children. Thank you for a great day. We give you 10 out of 10. Thanks.

Alex Franklin Horrendous service
We took our parents (that we only see once in a blue moon) here for lunch to be greeted, or not, by sour-faced staff, and an over-priced menu. As the expected waits in the other pubs on the sea-front were over an hour for food we persevered as this restaurant was quite empty compared to the others. We soon understood why it was empty. Our meals came out at all different times; I had actually finished my meal by the time my mother's meal came out. My father's side order came out as he was nearing finishing his meal, and the waitress when we complained merely shrugged her shoulders. When we asked to speak to the manager we were told he was unavailable to then be told by some locals that he was sat at the bar with obviously some more important customers. They failed to clear our table when we finished and also refused us a refund. I would not recommend this so-called restaurant for neither food nor service. A thoroughly bad experience.

Kim Sheppard Not a good meal
We went to the Dragon Inn last night after visiting a friend in Weston Hospital. We were very hungy and pleased to see a varied menu and reasonable prices. I ordered a lamb shank with mint and rosemary sauce, creamy mash and seasonal buttered vegetables. Mum ordered chicken, ham and leek pie with chips and seasonal buttered vegetables. When the food arrived after a 45 minute wait, we both had a handful of hard peas, not the promised seasonal buttered veg, Mum's pie was microwaved and very very soggy and worst of all my lamb shank was completely frozen!! When we told the waiter he took my lamb to be 'reheated' and his answer to our query about the veg was 'Oh yeah, we ran out'. We asked for our money back and went and got fish and chips instead. As we were leaving I looked through the door to the kitchen and it was filthy!! Oh, and my Kronenburg smelt of eggs too. I would never, never, never go there again!!

I've eaten here any nunber of times, they serve up food that isnt your usual pub grub with an imaginative menu, and at times an extrodinarily contemporary Specials board. i must confess that i have waited for food, but i have been assured this is because its is all freshly made to order, and i must agree the meat and fish are always fresh and ive never been served overcooked food. i must compliment the staff as well, the setup itsnt the easiest, but they still manage to provide a polite and helpful service. as far as the bar goes, they have a fine selection of wine and a selction of local ales.

I recently came to Weston for the beach race for the 22nd time and frequented your establishment on both the Friday and Saturday night with a group of friends. Whilst we found the food to be well presented and competitevely priced,we were very disappointed with the lack of control in carrying bottles and glasses onto the dance floor. When on the dance floor, one expects not to be hindered by people passing across the floor carrying drinks and also milling around the dance floor with the attitude that somehow you are in the wrong for dancing there. Otherwise a fine pub, keep it up!
