 Outstanding food
Outstanding food! The steak was quite possibly the best I have ever tasted. Great service, nothing too much trouble (whitebait for pudding? No problem!) It really is worth making the effort to find this place.

 It's open now!!!!
Whilst out walking along the River Waveney, I came across this place. It reopened only 4 weeks ago, fantastic staff, and nothing like what I have read below. I wish the new owners all the success.

This is a typical back street pub with a fantastic selection of real ales , cosy and amicable landlady and landlord, Highly recommended to the real ale drinkers of this world and should be in contention for camra pub of the year.

the best selection of beers in the town since the demise of the two necked swan. sean and shirley have taken over the mantle of the best ale in town. but why no blackfriars.

 Choose your meal carefully
Being next to the sea you expect stunning cod and Chips - don't bother its small, frozen and overcooked. The salads and carvery are lovely though and the sausage and mash are to die for.

 Rubbish !
I have never felt the need to leave a pub review before but having visited this place yesterday I now feel I must. The food was overpriced & awful. I had fish & chips which looked like it was on it's fifth trip from the fryer. It was completely inedible !
Don't bother wasting your money !

 Good Pub!
It's great during summer season as there's plenty of visitors, but winter can be a bit quiet (I should know, I play there regularly!)

Food is popular

Beer is good

Bob is a great Landlord and i'm sure you'll have a good time.

Maybe we'll see you there sometime?

 Why I like the crystal
The crystal is a great place to go in the day time or at night. Theres a pool table and a friendly atmosphere. The drinks are pretty cheap and at night time they have karaoke. Eric and June rock and make for some of the best nights out ive had. Viva la crystal! xx

A Rare gem from tourist dross
For all to long the tourist and day visitor to Norfolk has been looked at as grateful for anything, how nice is was to find a genuine pub and restaurant where good food at good prices was matched with the great location, scenic views and mostly the genuine warm welcome. We went 4 times in 1 week and enjoyed a varied choose fromt he daily specials and on each occasion we were greated with friendship and good manners, for once we did not feel like walking wallets happy to get whatever they wanted to give us, cant wait to go back in 2006.

 An excellent watering hole
I was staggering through the not so friendly streets of downtown Yarmouth, when it began to rain. Me and my drinking companion then realised we were locked out of our accomadation. As we got wetter and more miserable, we saw the only hope for happiness was a pub. The first one we came to was the malakoff twer. We were expecting a frosty reception from the locals, but we pleased to find the place all but empy. We ordered our drinks and took in the atmosphere. The only other people we having a heated arguement about celtic and liverpool, but were very friendly towards us. As the night went on we were joined by more of our friends, and we all got absolutely wrecked. Everyone was friendly, including the staff and helped make our stay in Yarmouth unforgettable.

 a nice little pub
On entering the malakoff tower for the first time i was surprised to see a group of about 8 women huddled around a pool table, and no one else. my friend took a seat whilst i went to the bar where i was greeted by a lovely woman who poored an excellent pint of john smiths (1.80 BARGAIN) as we watched T.V cops on the big screen we were joined by a man of about 65 who i must say was plastered he just tlked to us but was friendly and pleasant before leaving. this just demonstrates the friendly atmosphere of the area. also a bonus was that there was free pool for the whole night. Please note this is a quiet pub which i happen to enjoy but for those who like the busier crowds and perhaps some entertainment look elsewhere

 Dreadful food
Chicken korma is just brown glue. Complaining to the owner/manager does no good at all. she does not care about anyone complaining.

 Live Music
The Tavern really does have some of the best local talent on a Friday and Saturday Night. Look out for the Glamtastics, a superb glam/rock outfit and the Yah Beats - a refreshing Mersey Beat/60's band. Well worth the journey to see.

 American in English Countryside
I travelled to Great Yarmouth basically on a whim, never been to England, Never heard of Great Yarmouth, The Admiral Seymour turned out to be my haven. The people who worked there, the people who came in there - Everyone was absolutely wonderful, I will never forget the pints of Stella, the roll ups and the tobacco tins. The pool tournaments and the little pub sandwiches. . . I will never forget anything or anyone about it in my life. . . . . God Bless the UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Hmmmmmm
We played here last year. Ok we were on an hour late because we forgot an amp but everyone who had come to see us stayed and the bar would have been near empty if it hadn't been for us. The landlord must have made a big profit on beer but he refused to pay us more than £50. I can understand giving us a smaller pay cut, but not 3/4 of what we were supposed to get when he didn't lose any money by us being late.

 Brilliant Host
We recently held a reunion in Great Yarmouth and spent the first evening in the Admiral Seymour. Maggie, the owner was fantastic. She put on nibbles at the bar and later, chips and donated a bottle for a competition we were running. All the staff were very good and Maggie was the perfect Host.
