found yhe place by accident on a sunday afternoon. they were just switching from the lunch (sunday roast) menu to the a la carte menu at 4pm. menu is good choice of traditional homecooked british food, and was very good - steak pie was very tasty. fresh cooked with quality ingrediants. sticky toffee pudding was excellent too. very friendly and welcoming staff and good value for money. will go back for more!

Wise Alderman Anonymous Kidlington
This public house has recently been taken over in the past six weeks, i have been there now on 3 occasions to find the place full of people of all ages including many families, the new landlady is extremley comforting and nothing was to much to ask for, they have renovated the inside of the pub offering a new seating and eating area of which has all been decorated and very clean standard. The park has also been replaced, with a childs safety fence all round which is great for children. And for the food, well it was superb!! All home cooked on the premises, so not microwave rubbish, big portions and very reasonable prices, i will continue to use this pub as it has alot to offer and a beautiful place to eat, compliments all round.

Wise Alderman N. Gosnell Kidlington Worst run pub I have been in
Could not rate this public house for anything. Rudest Landlady around, no atmosphere, plenty of Alsations running around the bar, Only serves food when she feels like it. Shuts through the afternoons at weekends, even in summer, used to be very popular for familys during that time of year, the garden would be heaving with customers but all there is now is mole hills. When will the brewery realise that it is nothing to do with the credit crunch, that the place is always empty, there are plenty of people that would use the pub but they must get someone to run it that actually likes people. In a nutshell it is the best known pub in Kidlington for being the worst. Sad as there is so much potential for it with the right ownership

Lamb Inn Lizzie Henley On Thames Very, very disappoining
Having been advised this was a AWT pub, I was expecting good food and a friendly atmosphere. Not a bit of it. The ham was thin, dull and lacking flavour; the chips frozen and the eggs overdone. Could have got better at a roadside cafe. Visited on a Friday lunchtime when most pubs in the area are buzzing with customers but not here. Obviously, the word is getting around that this pub is certainly not up to standard - but still pricey.

Kings Head Rab Bicester Refurb going well
At long last some funds have been provided for some much needed work to be done on this 17th century wonderful pub the food is as near as possible locally sourced and home cooked, the freezers are gradually being emptied and switched off. just heard the pub has been nominated for the local CAMRA branch pub of the year competition for the second year in a row. great news for real ale drinkers

This is the best pub in Henley. Large, spacious, beautifully desinged and the best food anywhere around. We love it. Dog friendly too, says a lot. Landlord a bit like Basil Fawlty but once you get to know him, he's charming!

Having recentley visited this pub, I was horrified to read the earlier comments on your site. I had a most enjoyable stay in very comfortable accommmodation. The rooms were cleaned daily at kept to a high standard. The food was good quality home cooked food. as for the comments about the dog, our children had the most wonderful time playing with her. I would highly reccomend this pub to anyone. It made a pleasent change to go to a pub that welcomed guests of all ages!! Well done to the landlady and her staff and lets hope that the comments of certain individuals don't put you of visiting.

This has possibly got to be the worst pub i've ever had the misfortune of setting foot in. When you walk in there is a foul smell hanging in the air not sure of what but it made me feel sick, when mentioned to the landlord he was quite rude about it basically saying tough. The beer was the worst tasting beer in my many years of experience it's possible that the lines haven't been cleaned in months!!! My wife and I visited the pub on a wednesday evening and all I can say is that if you're not in the pool team then don't bother being there on that evening as you will be ignored. when I expressed my concerns to Craig the Landlord/Manager he just dismissed me and said if you don't like it then F**k Off somewhere else. Will never visit this awfull pub again thats for sure....

Trigger Pond A Pub Fan Bicester Unfortunatley a management change
Visited the Pub back in January and was delighted the food was brill, the service perfect and the ale fantastically well kept. I visited again last Friday (13/10) and the pub was dusty, the service slow and almost rude and dont even get me started on the ales. Apparantly the managers had changed. Why? I visited for one night a few weeks ago and was greeted by a thoroughly unpleasant landlady who told us her dog would rip our face off if we came any closer. Her manner for the rest of our stay was just as vile. I would never stay here again and felt sick to my stomach that I had to pay for the experience.

I liked the Red Lion, it is more commercial than some of the smaller local pubs, it has a cool juke box, pool tables, and the staff are super cool and friendly, especially the manager, I am Australian, and went there often for a quite beer or coffe, and one day I must of looked a little lonely, he comes over with a big grin and gives me an Ausie two dollar coin! I like the after shots we had there one night, and the cosy seating is ideal for some intamacy!

Crown James Chinnor Great Pub for the whole family.
Great Food, Friendly Atmosphere excellent staff and service. Plenty of parking and a good garden for the summer. Bouncy castle every Sunday (weather permitting) for the children. The only bad thing is the height of the ceiling in places which is quite low for someone of 6ft 4.

What a find. Been looking for somewhere local to eat since moving to Abingdon a couple of months ago. We turned up and was seated straight away (note: We took the last table, so be advised booking for a Saturday night.) Good service, Superb menu, (maybe a little TOO much choice!) Lamb Shoulder to die for and my wife can recommend the Homemade Smoked Haddock & Crayfish fishcakes. Desserts and Coffee's finished us off! We were served courtiously and efficiently even though the staff were obviously busy. Good range of beers and cask ales on offer (Greene King IPA, St Austell Tribute and Tom Wells Bomber County.) The Royal Oak is back on top! With its complete refurb old customers would not recognise the place. It has the friendliest atmosphere and it is nice to see the difference in age ranges that use the pub on a regular basis, you would not have a problem in finding someone to chat to if you are on your own. John and Sue have done an excellent job in turning this place around and with Discos on Fridays and Karaoke on Saturdays with a guest live band once a month things can only go on improving. Excellent

Black Horse Geoff Kidlington Features....?
As you may see from the section below that should list all the good features about this pub it is EMPTY - just like the heads of the majority of the patrons who frequent this so-called 'music venue'.
