| I have been here several times in the past as they always done a veggie option to go with the usual Yorkshire puss, roast potatoes etc. However on my last visit there was no veggie option whatever except the normal meat menu minus meat at the same cost!!! | It was the first time i'd been in the lord rosebery pub since its renovations. I'm a 30 year old man who doesnt drink alcohol, but i had a lovely evening. There was a dj who kept the karaoke going, and a nice bloke behind the bar helped organise the cakes candles and singing Happy Birthday. It also had a nice vibe in the pub and was kitted out with a plasma tv with the footie on. I would recomend having a good night out here. | ||

Muzak playing from speakers over the bar which all but puts a stop to all conversation. When new tenants took over no tv, music etc, Now showing Sky Sports whether it is being watched or not. | Visited today for lunch and was more than disappointed...not welcoming at all, latte machine not working,no cream or brown sugar with coffee..room was cold,toilets not as clean as could be, the room smelt of cigarette smoke and the window cleaner (though very pleasant) was cleaning the insides of the windows whilst we ate...needless to say we wont be dining there again..not a professional set up at all.....and priced fairly high too....maybe lessons to be learnt here.....maybe from restaurant across the road at The Oaks...sorry but true. | ||

| hello all. i maybe could agree with recent comments, as i had read some bad reviews in the past. If you look back at the history of the place then it all come's together as the country pub inside the city As a relativly new customer to the gibralta gardens the past few months have been great! Bad reviews don't do the place any justice. in my opinion the weak links have been taken out of the chain & i regulary eat & drink there. My husband & I think the food is great, the staff are great an all in all it makes a fantastic meal out. with an ever changing desserts & specials board this is a place we love to eat an whoever read this post at least try once I went there for the Sunday Carvery yesterday, talk about value for money ive never seen so much beef on my plate not to mention the quality an choice of vegetables on offer, remined me of grandm'as home cooking. This is a must for anyone looking for a place to eat good traditional english fair on a sunday | ||

I ordered Turkey dinner no sausage and bacon, no stuffing, as was served with both - the waitress aid she'd forgotten. the potatoes and yorkshires overcooked, the brocolli almost raw - with 5 beans between three people! Nut roast turned out to be a pile of soggy rice, tasteless and ugly looking - the waitress aid there are nuts in it the cook had gone home At £12.95 per head it was a waste of money | ||

Yes it has lots of different ales, but it also has all that they attract, such as pompous pricks who seem to think it too much of a chore to let people past them to go to the toilet etc. It's ok, but by no-means the best. The worst part is feeling sheer relief at leaving a horribly over-crowed pub with a bad atmosphere, then hearing your mates rave about how good it was the next day! | ||

| For seventeen years this has been my favourite pub there is - and there's no sign of that changing! The landlady has the most infectious (and loud!) laugh, and the landlord has more piercings than a piece of fretwork, but don't be fooled by appearances! This is a warmly-welcoming traditional pub traditionally run, with well-kept beers, good food and wonderful company. In fact, it's so good, the customers hardly ever seem to leave!!! | ||

| Re-visited this pub as had eaten there several times a year over the last 6 years. New owners still have just about the same menu, so you get used of what you can eat ... or not! Besides the very old looking salad we all had and the cold onion rings, the steak dishes were fine; sister had steak burger with cheese - shame just 2 cheese slices (tesco specials) where dumped ontop the salad; were going to order sweets but noted how there were prepared by staff in full view of us eating in the dining room - hair everywhere, no apparent food hygiene methods; noted the Christmas menu was £29.95 for a 4 course meal (nothing special there and way overpriced for what you got). All in all, think I will avoid it for the next 6 years and hope that the menu and food improves. | ||

| After eating Sunday lunch with 4 members of my family, we were asked to leave as we did not all have drinks on the table. I saw nothing around the pub indicating time limits on drinks, and did not feel 1 hour was unreasonable for a meal and drink? I think I have witnessed a case of a landlord keeping his focus on turnover rather than customer satisfaction. | Visted this pub for a sunday lunch on 3.9.06. Oh my god!! It was gorgeous. The meals are definitely 'proper' portions - in fact it is the first time a roast dinner has ever defeated me or hubby who plumped for the steak&kidney pud which would feed 2 people easily. | This is a nice pub in a nice part of town. The drinks are ok priced, they do tasty bar food and I've always had good service. The sound system is cool two and not too loud so you can enjoy a conversation! Possibly only downside is that there is fairly limited seating considering how busy it gets on a weekend. | ||

| I was just loving the rating of no rosettes by the person who put popular with the pikies! The Gibraltar appeals to many different groups of people and as someone who lives on the nearby estate but by no means the pikey sort, I would say that you have to keep an eye on your valuables anywhere - errr, it's called common sense. It's a nice local where you can sit by the river and chill with the added bonus of having a menu that's not that bad either. | ||

| This is my local, at the end of my street & I've been drinking here since I bought my house 8 years ago. Being gay but not into the scene I was a bit disturbed when I heard that the new owners were going to turn it into a gay pub & I'd have it right on my doorstep but Tony & Kenny have done a good job of keeping the troublesome element at bay & there's quite a nice welcoming atmosphere in the place. I'm by no means the regular I was since it changed (I can't stand dance muisc for a start!) but if friends invite me & my g/f up there we don't mind going! | ||

Waitresses preparing desserts in full view of customers, constantly seen to be licking fingers throughout - how revolting! Pitiful that individual desserts (which are probably bought v. cheaply innbulk) also seen to be taken out of chest freezer and microwaved - then charged at exorbitant rates - we were disgusted. | ||

| I visited this pub on Sunday 10th April, the place is a shambles! Only one large screen TV which is unwatchable such poor contrast & definition. You wouldn’t know if it was showing the Premiership or a cricket match plus music playing so it’s inaudible as well. I Gave up on watching the game what ever it was (nobody else was bothering either). I ordered a pint of Banks bitter the only cask ale available then sat in the restaurant area with a view to ordering Sunday Lunch. On inspection of the beer I found it was immersed in floating particles (the dregs of yeast possibly). In disgust I put it down & left to find a decent Pub (not difficult in Norwich). I only ever use this Pub for convenience as I live 3 minutes walk away. On previous experience I have had food orders go wrong & the TV is a pathetic standard. Why do you bother to pay sky when it’s unwatchable? The only people that frequent this place are people from the local estate. Frankly it’s not worth the 3 min walk from my house. If you would like some further criticism the place is run by inexperienced staff who wouldn’t know cask ale from a glass of coke it’s a joke you have a cask marque tick on your website, the state of decoration & cleanliness is bad. Don’t you ever have anyone inspect your pubs? | ||
