 Excellent menu,food and friendly service
We dined here in comfortable surrounding with fourteen friends from across the County of Cornwall.
With the varied menu and specials available all tastes were catered for, the superb food was a served in generous portions and appreciated by all.
With friendly staff and good food the Griffin Inn certainly ticks all the boxes.

Look out over Crantock Beach while you relax and enjoy a meal by the fire in the winter, or on the terrace in the summer! Well worth a visit.

Was appalled at the service of the restaurant. The menu looked very nice but we were dissappointed as soon as we walked in. Firstly we were not shown to our table instead the waitress pointed to a table. Secondly our menus were just placed on the table rather than given directly to us. We ordered 4 starters and 6 main courses, 3 of which were bolognese and 1 carbonara. We were told that there was only wnough pasta for 3 dinners so went for 3 bolognese. Just before our dinner was served the waitress told us that the chef had made a mistake and that there was only 2 bolognese and 1 carbonara. She was extremely rude and did not apologise for the mix up, instead turned to walk away. We asked for a menu and was told that if we wanted to wait for 30minutes while another dinner was served then that was up to us so we kept the other meals which people did not really like. When we spoke to the waitress afterwards we were told that that was totally acceptable behaviour and that if we were not happy then we should have waited 30 minute for another meal while the rest eat their dinner. I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant.

 Great Place to eat
We live locally and really enjoy eating at the Lewinnick Lodge. Food good ,service always fun and a view to die for. Visitors always get taken to the lodge and they have never let us down. For my wifes special birthday they gave us a table for two in the window with balloonsover it. A nice touch.

Absolutely appalling service.
Rudest member of staff I have ever had the misfortune to meet.
Walked out before we were even seated.
Went further down the road and were served at a wonderful restaurant by professional friendly staff.
Would never return- my advise is to keep walking!!

This is easily one of the best pubs in newquay! we visited during the summer and they were packed out every night, so book so your not disappointed. It is a family run pub which adds to the very friendly atmosphere to both locals and tourists. All the family were extremely welcoming making it impossible not to return! Well done to mr and mrs Horsfield and their girls!

 Amazing Sea Views
We visit this fantastic bar/restaurant at least once per month for Sunday Lunch - it's the best roast you can get with the biggest yorkshire puds ive ever seen. It's such great value for money.
The staff are brilliant and the atmosphere suitable for all ages. In fact I'm going there for Valentine's day tonight! I always recommend The Lewinnick to my friends and family - if you havent tried it your missing out - booking for the restaurant is essential. PS the sea views are amazing.

Well worth a visit. I am a coach driver and I am in Newquay several times a year, I use Mavericks all the time. Best pint of Smiths or Guinness in town, and the food is spot on. Not the cheapest in town but for what you get on your plate more than worth it and cooked to perfection (nice one Inez) as always. see ya again soon.

 Love the Place
We visit Lewinnick Lodge quite often - have always had a good meal - reasonable priced - varied fish menu as I do not eat meat. Lovely views whatever the weather. Good for me when I was on crutches - disabled- friendly as far as I was concerned - due to a ruptured achilles tendon! Also always bring our visitors to Lewinnick.

 Our favourite place
We go to the Lewinnick a lot, as we are local to Newquay. We love the fact they welcome well behaved dogs. It's a haven in the summer that offers spectacular views and good food.

We love it, despite the frustrating car park!

 Best food in Cornwall!
Have lived in Cornwall for the past 23 years and this was our first visit to the Lodge!.
Food was the best I have tasted in any restaurant in Cornwall, great views from the venue plus friendly helpful staff.
When I booked the staff warned me about the carpark. But I had a choice of about 5 spaces.
Highly recommended. ps. Food was cooked jtp perfection.

 sports bar
This is Newquay's sports bar and show big screen football etc. Ok for a drink or a bite to eat but some other pubs are a little more inviting if you want a relaxed atmosphere. This pub is good for the sports fan. I would not really say a family bar. Bouncers are on the door in the summer months.

Visited our friends' pub for the first time last summer since they moved from Hull in East Yorkshire. We think you're doing a great job and we were very impressed with the pub and the menu. You'll probably get many visits from lots of tourists as well as the locals! We'll be calling to see you again next time we're on holiday in Cornwall.!

 lazy summer days
I was recommended the Lew on arrival to our Pentire apts. A short stroll along the coast brought us to our fabulous destination. Great beer (I recommend the Cornish blonde) great atmosphere and stunning views from the decking outside to sit chill and watch the sun go down and the dolphins play. Excellent.

 Truly amazing
Our family were sceptical about visiting the lodge. We spent many happy holidays there in the 70's when my aunt and uncle owned it and had heard that it had been modernised. Although it was a shame that the place had obviously been gutted and rebuilt, thus losing it's old charm and character, we were pleased to see that the new owners had made the most of such a beautiful site. You can now sit and eat outside on wooden decking with panoramic views. The food is really different and exciting. Although they don't have a veggie menu, if you tell them, they'll come up with various tasty veggie meals - much more interesting than the usual veg lasagne or brocolli and cheese bake!
